Checking for servicing a old 16610 old sub.. What are the instruction to give to Rolex to retain the value as much as possible?

1) no change dial, hands, bezel etc
2) no polishing

How about internal parts?

RSC will definitely insist on changing a few items in the movement cos their policy is every Rolex must leave RSC in tip top performance.

This RSC quotation below was for a 20+ year old watch that went thru one service almost 10 years ago. No obvious problems. Runs like clockwork, water resistance still proven and water tight after many swims and showers.

I went to a few other watchmakers, all said no need to change until these parts don't work anymore which may be another few more years. Why change now when everything is working fine? Break already then change lah, same thing what. Save your money for later lah. But RSC insisted. So decline lor.

why would chiu wan to retain sum1 else’s history on teh watch unless ish chiur own watch or passed down to chiu by family...most vintage collectors are speculators tats why they emphasise on unpolished etc if franken they can’t make $ riaos...ish not so much about maintaining teh watch in its “original”

ish rike most peepur buy now for “value” juz bcos vintage collectors say so tis tat....imagine a old Kermit was sold to chiu and unknowingly chiu bought it and found out tat it belonged to sum sick criminal... realising it will chiu want to let RSC polish teh bracelet, change teh bezel and make it all new again or chiu prefer wearing a bad piece of history ?

or another simple example...sum 1 sell chiu his 16610 cheap but tell chiu he just dropped it into the toilet bowl wif full of sai...will chiu wan to have teh bracelet and case and lugs etc all polished nice by RSC, change watever bezel and interior parts or chiu prefer to wear it as it ish wif his sai history to retain its rich vintage value :D

Hi hi can chiu show us your Daytona? If chiu Daytona drop into toilet full of Sai, will chiu sell for retail price? 🥳

Yes, if you bought a popular model.

Then you need to rebuild your profile again lol.

I used to work in AD

then it's not called profile already what.

this is clearly PWP: just that the purchase time is staggered and non-guaranteed.

Any views on the sky dweller? Most chats seem to be about sub and Daytona.
If you find yourself being drawn to it repeatedly, then it’s the watch for you. No need to care about what other people think.

Daytona and Subs are most talked about simply because it garners the most interest from the public for various reasons.

a complicated watch.. too many movements.. too many movements = too many parts = higher chances parts need replacement in the longggggg future..

HG daytona, HG yachtmaster and Sub also has. At least that was offered to me during **.

Thank you. I supposed these at RRP then? Used to be able to get 15% discount last time on ‘unpopular’ models but I doubt not anymore

tis ish different...his ish a 16610...Tok about those much higher valued one of coz peepur will grab if ish 50% value just to flip it...if his 16610 also more than 50% discount most will juz buy it and use teh spare cash to change or polish teh bezel and bracelet...wear awhile sell and sell also earn $$....wun think of keeping wat in original condition...

ish rike saying gimme a dayonta with Tiffany dial where teh watch was found inside longkang full of dead rotting animals at 50% moi also will take riao and sell to those so called “collectors aka speculator”...wun even be interested to wear it in its original state etc

knn 16610 duno buy second hand or wat from where then wan to retain simi “vintage” value...unless ish passed down or wat for family or wat then ok rah...knn buy sum second hand sub from second hand dealers who duno how many hands teh sub has passed riaos then if wan to wear long term go change new bezel polish it or wat and it carries your history from then on
