RT-AX58U, 3.0.0.4.386_41700

With 160Mhz off, solved my 2.4Ghz issues. Before, having frequent random drop. Half baked 160.

Does your 2.4ghz devices even support 160mhz in the first place ? Lol 😂

is it better get TUF AX3000 locally or from China taobao with the current price difference now and warranty i will get in Singapore. Understand that if i buy directly from taobao it can potentially unlock the capability to become the same AX5400 grade.

It all depends on your risk taking profile.

Price differnece is significant now that the promotion price of TUF AX3000 (was S$229, same as RT-AX58U) seems to be missing.

China pricing of TUF AX3000 is about RMB769 (official Asus China Tmall flagship store).

If you want to take the risks as I, you may want to get China version of RT-AX82U at RMB899 offer price (offical Asus China Tmall flagship store, was RMB999). No need to unlock as it is officially rated AX5400 (4*4 AX 5GHz 160MHz capable).

Main advantage of China version of popular Asus router.
1) same HW/FW as the SG version, you can set English interface and it has the Singtel VLAN profile if you are using Singtel ONT
2) possible to set Australia regional setting to boost wifi TX power

RT-AX58U: S$199

RT-AX82U: S$299

TUF AX3000: S$259 (previous offer at S$229)

Is ax58u wifi range better than ax56u and ax55?

Actually i dont need speed, range more important. Are there cheaper asus routers i should go for? E.g. ac2600 (M1), ac1200g+

And of course stability and wont give problems

Dont really fancy other brands due to bad purchases in the past

Thanks

Yes RT-AX58U will generally be a bit better with better components (5GHz EFM) used.

In terms of router in the same brand, you get what you pay for. Pay the one you can afford. You will find S$100 more spend is well worth the money.

Edit to add: the 5GHz FEM is said to be the same as Skyworks 85743, between RT-AX56U and RT-AX58U. Still the cost difference is not so much with the promotion, I will still recommend RT-AX58U over RT-AX56U as the main router.

As for RT-AX55, it is a great AP but not that good as the main router because of 256MB RAM.

Hi People, I've bought an RT-AX82U as my main router.
And i like to check if AX58U is an suitable choice to buy as an AiMesh Node ?
Will be wired connected, and i understood at all the router function will be handled by the main, Node only extend Wifi.
Does the 5 GHz-2 4 x 4 and 2 x 2 difference matter if used a an node ?

If tuf ax3000 is 229, is it a better layman main router than ax58u?

I gather tuf ax3000 2.4ghz is better than ax58u? Also read on snb that ax56u 2.4ghz is better than ax58u for the same reason (external amplifier)?

Thanks again

I will not really care for 2.4GHz as it is really not that different in case of SG due to the conjestion. That external amplifier may or may not be really helpful in Singapore.

To the layman, RT-AX58U SG version is basically the same as TUF AX3000 SG version. With S$30 difference, I will go for RT-AX58U. If same cost like previous promotion (S$229), then I will go for the TUF AX3000

But TUF AX3000 China version is much better due to the Assinsin mode 4*4 AX hack and Australia region hack.

Asus RT-AX82U and TUF AX3000

Three Asus models (AX82U, AX58U and TUF AX3000) actually share the same Broadcom BCM6750 CPU. Major difference is the wifi spec. RT-AX82U is AX5400 rated and the other two are AX3000 rated.

It is said that TUF AX3000 has pretty much the same HW as RT-AX82U and can potentially unlock the capability to become the same AX5400 grade (4T4R AX 160MHz on 5GHz band).

Chinese Router website acwifi.net has come out with the test of a new FW of TUF AX3000 which unlocks 4T4R.

Not sure if the SG version of TUF AX3000 has the unlock FW available. Some time ago it was on offer for S$229. RT-AX82U promotion price is at S$329 and normally at S$359.

If this hack works, then no point to buy the RT-AX82U already.
Hi xiaofan, your information is very useful for me.
Can I confirm if this is still true for the TUF AX3000 which is selling in Singapore now?

Not for the SG version, only the China version.

Please also take note TUF AX3000 China version has been replaced by TUF AX5400 China version. So if you want to buy the China version, TUF AX5400 is a good buy, offer price is RMB749 from official Asus Taobao/Tmall flagship store. Usual price is RMB799 which is also a very good value buy.

For the mesh node, RT-AX56U China version (same as RT-AX55 SG version and not the same as RT-AX56U SG version) at RMB399 is not bad.

For higher end RT-AX86U, it is not really worth buying the China version, rather SG gaming version from Courts offer is better as it looks nice and it has local warranty.

You may also choose to go with local version of RT-AX82U from Courts promotion.

For RT-AX55, Carousell may have brand new set with good price as well.

Does it come with Singapore warranty if I buy from TMall, JD?

For RT-AX82U, dqf3c.sg (China) on Shopee is selling at S$269.80 only.
Is it legit/genuine?
The comments seem fine, but the deal is too good to be true?
