What would be your advice? This is like my first TV for my family after saving up enough ..

My personal opinion is contact the seller and get a refund, there's no reason to accept paying for a C825 and getting anything else as it costs much more than other models. Even the PIs should accomodate that request if you show them the evidence that it's fake.

After that you can decide if you want a C815, P815, C728, C725, etc and pay the right price for those.

does it even have an integrated sound bar? seems to me only x8xx models have it?
Seems outside looks like C825, but inside is totally different hardware.
This is what I call somehow a "Home Made" models , as can read a few pages back.
Feel sorry for @MightyPigeon , need to contact the seller and get a refund.
Why only in Singapore?
I didn't read anywhere else........

first time I heard buy model A but firmware is model B. The TV should have label indicated what model is that.

TCL 6-Series 4K mini-LED QLED HDR with Google TV

Wah heng never jump onto the C825 wagon…this one looks better!

Very nice indeed, the design of the TV looks better too. But there's a high chance TCL Singapore might not bring in the 6 and 5 series as witnessed last year, we didn't get the R635. The only ones that brought them in were the parallel importers. Given these messy situation with the parallel importer's fake C825 sets, we've to be extra precautious if they bring in these 6 and 5 series.

Would be best if we reach out to TCL Singapore's Social Media e.g Facebook page to express interest in these 5 and 6 series.

I wonder if the R635 stocks which were brought in by the parallel importers last year were genuine or not though.

TCL 6 Series 55R646 with two hdmi 2.1 ports i think is good! And the pricing is much affordable especially with two HDMI 2.1 ports. Sony A80J with hdmi 2.1 ports is much more expensive. Of course, we are talking about Sony and definitely the quality is more superior.

Do really hope TCL Singapore can bring in this and we can see how good is it.

Not only the TV processor make a different, overall QC, PQ and audio that make A80J an excellence TV.
If you don't care or need the best, TCL is more fit into budget or value for money category.

TCL seems to run the US models different from the rest of world.
Not sure if the strategy changes now that it is on the Google TV platform.

Seeing the C825 in rest of world launched so near to the R646, i guess R646 will continue to be a US based model.

R646 looks good. The previous R6 and 5 series not brought into singapore i believe is due to low demand of Roku OS. Not many will want to buy a tv but cannot use alot of features. Going google tv will definitely change the game

Sidetrack abit. If a tv advertise it has dolby atmos but no earc port mean the built in speakers are atmos certified?

If it's coming from Giant, and is really the C825 that you saw and not the C725, than it is a good deal.. If you're not looking to use the TV specifically for Gaming at 4K 120hz, as there has been some claims that it outputs half resolution at 4K when the refresh rate is set to 120hz from the external device.

Refer here for more info of this 4K 120hz blur issue via HDMI 2.1 pass through:
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...hread-iii-consolidated.6477950/post-135454296
This issue may or may not be affecting the C825 and the only way is for someone to do an analysis or continue waiting for Vincent from HDTVTest or HardwareUnboxed to pick this TV up for review. I was actually planning to head over to Giant with an RTX 30 series Laptop specifically to do a test for this issue, but I'm unable to get a hold of one yet for rent.

It might not affect you if your usage is entirely based off the TV's internal apps and not through external devices. In future more of such external devices would support 4K 120hz pass through, that's where the user might run into issues a couple years from now should they wish to rely on an external media device.

So if this does not bother you, going with this TV via Giant at $1099 is a good deal, but I would check again if you've gotten the models mixed up.
