I did this for my TNG RFID and it works behind a solar film.

But the requirement here is that we need to submit a photo of the VEP Tag on your front headlights with your car plate in the photo so that the admins can verify, approve and then activate the VEP Tag. I’ve called the VEP hotline to check with the CS if we can apply to windscreen and the answer is no.

My guess is for security purposes to prevent others from tampering and transferring onto other cars as this is a permit to enter Malaysia

Perhaps others who have applied to their windscreen and got it approve can chime in as well.
I am hoping that they can issue the windscreen one, like the previous blue RFID tag.

Personally I think the reason why the requirement on the front headlights and not on windscreen is for easier verification as they want to see the tag + car plate number. If we paste it on the windscreen it might be a challenge to have both the tag and car plate to be visible in 1 photo. But that’s just my guess.

It would be best if anyone is able share that their VEP RFID was approved with the tag pasted on their windscreen.

Use a temporary tape to stick the VEP RFID tag on to the headlights, take picture, submit for approval...then relocate the tag to the windscreen?

Quite fast from my experience

13 Oct: Paid
15 Oct: Shipped from malaysia
17 Oct: Received

Comes with instructions on how to activate it. Need to paste on car front headlights and submit photo before they activate the VEP RFID. Currently wrote in to TNG to update my account type from Passport to NRIC otherwise cannot link the VEP RFID to TNG wallet.
I am also facing the same issue. Send an email to TNG requesting to update ID Type from Passport to NRIC but no response from them.... frustrating 😪

Do not expect that service level you would get in SG. Thus all these tech stuffs, i still hesitate to get it done. Still going the old school method. Been like this for my past 4-5 cars.

Their IT dept never think ahead one. So if got new car, just register another one.
the issue is, if you retain your old carplate, you will encounter errors when you register your new ride.

this happen to me. ting tong here and there, email them but never reply me. gave up, just print out whatever documents from LTA that you've retained the carplate and your log card, and you're good to go.

When I visited the VEP RFID Tag collection centre on last Sunday, I told them that I wanted to deactivate my old RFID tag because I already sold the car. But they told me they have to forward my request to another department to deactivate, don't know will take how long for them.....lol

I collected my RFID tag and they told me to stick on the headlamp myself to submit photo at their portal website to get their approval before they activate the tag.

Recently, TnG has updated with my Passport ID and Passport Number in my TnG app. Not sure where is the problem now. Until now, I still cannot see my new VEP RFID tag in my TnG app, as tag activation was on 27-October.
