I have received the VEP RFID Tag by postage and have fixed it on the headlight. And from the VEP website, the status shows "tag issued and activated", 1 week already and the TnG ewallet apps did not show any VEP RFID when select "RFID" icon.

Anyone has successfully activated the on the TnG ewallet and how long it take to appear on the app?
appearing on app is immediate. however, to be able to use it to pay for VEP and toll, will need 24 hours to 48 hours.

This week suddenly got email to complete VEP registration to collect VEP RFID tag. I assume need to make payment and fix appointment go in for them to install or something? Or izzit they mail to u and u self-install now.

Any incentive to do first or wait and see if they change something again... abit skeptical since this thing has dragged and dragged.

I got the same email. I also intend to just drag until they make it compulsory.

My ride will reach 10 years in another 3.5 years. I'm afraid next time will have trouble to deregister. If not compulsory, why bother to do it.

Same. Not sure should proceed or not. But I go in JB quite regularly so maybe can just drop to collect to might as well

Same here, I registered at least three years ago and got no news from them until now. Anyway I completed the VEP registration and now received an email ask me to may payment and collect the tag at Donga Bay JB or they can mail it to me by post.

Understand RFID will be compulsory later and don't want to caught by surprise at last minute but on the other hand heard a lot about the difficulty in deregistration the tag for old car and re-register for another car.

I still haven't decided what to do as my car COE is only 21/2 year left. Should I go ahead...

Hi all shifus, I bought the RFID TnG tag from a petrol station a couple of weeks ago and I’ve yet to affix it to the car because that their MoT currently suspended the issuance of the VEP RFID tag.

Just yesterday, I went over to a local workshop in JB and asked the mechanic to help me paste the RFID TnG tag; however, he told me to wait for the VEP RFID Tag instead as that was meant for SG cars; the TnG RFID Tag is meant for Malaysian cars.

I actually managed to register in the Touch and Go ewallet the RFID tag and tagged it to my Singapore car; so just curious if anyone managed to load money and pass the RFID gantry with no issues?

@ironiioxide

I have the TNG RFID and have been able to clear the RFID lane with no issues. Just received my VEP RFID today so my TNG RFID will be useless now.

Quite fast from my experience

13 Oct: Paid
15 Oct: Shipped from malaysia
17 Oct: Received

Comes with instructions on how to activate it. Need to paste on car front headlights and submit photo before they activate the VEP RFID. Currently wrote in to TNG to update my account type from Passport to NRIC otherwise cannot link the VEP RFID to TNG wallet.

I did this for my TNG RFID and it works behind a solar film.

But the requirement here is that we need to submit a photo of the VEP Tag on your front headlights with your car plate in the photo so that the admins can verify, approve and then activate the VEP Tag. I’ve called the VEP hotline to check with the CS if we can apply to windscreen and the answer is no.

My guess is for security purposes to prevent others from tampering and transferring onto other cars as this is a permit to enter Malaysia

Perhaps others who have applied to their windscreen and got it approve can chime in as well.
