No idea what is wrong with my UI HM Aeron. Backrest suffered mesh damage without anything cutting/poking/tangling it in Dec 2021. Got it replaced in the same month and year. Now 1 year and 4 months later, the replacement backrest also suddenly gave way while sitting on it upright and resting my back on it.

Worse still, the Unwanted Imports "contact us" page is not working when submitting claims.

a lot report on the new mesh wearing out.. i guess old hm aeron is the way to go

u sit on aeron without tshirt? how come the mesh yellow yellow haha....

I was told that those mesh spoil ones are people who sit on without tshirt so their bodily oils get on the mesh causing some reaction and make the mesh brittle.

my Aeron bought from audiosg, now using 2 years already, always with tshirt on, mesh still working fine. I use daily 8 to 10 hours.

Even with old Aeron I also put 1 layer t shirt cover the mesh then I sit body naked with. The mesh will collect dust so I don't wanna direct contact. But even with cloth on it I still feel comfortable.

I do find many ppl say the remastered mesh was softer and not as dura as old aeron

for me i always sit with tshirt on my aeron remastered. i have 2 in my study area. one aeron i constantly use everyday, another one is a spare aeron put beside me so that the space dont look so empty without a chair.

the one i constantly use, i did not baby it at all and everyday just sit, sometimes slump down to the chair with constant 8 to 10 hours usage. I am not a fat BBFA if that matters haha..

chair mesh still look as good as day 1. Cant say for those who are heavier. Might have wear out the mesh faster.

An update on my replacement backrest -

Unwanted Import's silence continued as expected; no emails from them at all. I would have expected a negative response for warranty at the very least but got absolutely nothing from them. I will definitely stay away from them in the future.

My new backrest came through from newstar after 6 weeks of waiting. A technician came by to do the replacement, was quite forceful when removing the lumbar support and ended up cracking a part of the frame:

It still works fine, but makes me wonder how long it will hold up.

Upon notifying Newstar, they came back saying that they will provide a replacement. Unfortunately, to my surprise they delivered the Aeron Classic lumbar support instead, and upon querying, I was told that they do not have ready stock of the remastered lumbar support as it costs much more ($200+), is more complex to order and will take much longer to arrive. :(

At this point I'm too tired to pursue anything further and will just live with my fixed backrest along with my semi-broken lumbar support. If anyone knows of a better solution, let me know.

I dont know how and why Newstar is selling the used HM chairs for so much. The discontinued, entry-level Celle is being sold for 599 on Shopee. I got a used fully-loaded HM Celle on Carousell for 355.

Not my photo below.

Kickstarter is full of vapour ware.

Looks like another China rebrand like secret lab.

I wonder how secret lab is still surviving with such quality and reputation. Still can earn until buy gcb.

You'll be surprised as Secret Lab's reputation among the general public, which makes up 99% of Singapore's population that doesn't surf HWZ.

I'm not sure what's their marketing success. But they seem to have a lot of marketing lobang, could get tech reviews to write positive reviews.

My colleague was raving about signing up for MyRepublic to get the Sekretlab chair. My entry-level 2nd hand Herman Miller is only half the price of a new Sekretlab chair.

It's very sketchy of companies to provide "extended warranty" to customers who post or tag pictures to social media accounts.

For new prospective customers, it'll look like many many people are buying such chairs, which is sleazy as heck.

I remember tech review and HWZ gave very positive reviews.

Secret Lab actually had their own mesh chair but their Peeling chair series is still their signature.

How many chairs must they sell to cover one GCB?
