Midea aircon is sold at some major retailers. I wanted to get their portable aircon at one time but was told their spare parts very difficult to get.
Usually portable aircon spare parts hard to get from what i was told by the aircon repair guys.

Yes, but bigger brands have warehouses in SG so chances are they have some stocks lying around if it's not a widespread issue.

Midea on the other hand, mostly needs to be ordered on demand. That's what the sales guy told me.

Also heard the same too, some Midea parts are not readily available and need to wait for Midea to shipped from China to SG. Best repairability is Mitsubishi Electric and easy to dismantle for servicing too.

non inverter? that was the reason I changed my aircon couple of years ago.
Non inverter, that's what I like as it's really COLD. Nowadays inverter with 5 ticks is only COOL, when weather is hot or more people in the room, then need to turn on my KDK fan.

hows your electrical bill like?

my resale also left over a system 3 fujitsu. >15 years old. very cold also. but kan pua see bei jiak dian. first month use, electricity only $270. monitor again 2nd month also around the same. dont have other heavy consumption appliances apart from the fridge which is new.

my friends place using starmex or daikin also (2-3 years old) system 3 daily use at most $150 nia. i changed to daikin after doing some calculation. assume savings of $150 a month x 12 mths = $1.8k. 2 years = $3.6k. new system 3 daikin was only $2700 when i did mine. no brainer to change. if i can use >5 years, i already saved.

electricity came down to $100-120 average now.
O.K., you got me there. I admit my electric bill a bit high. Mostly on the bedroom A/C only, and even that one, at night only. $200 plus a month. If turn on daytime, in living room, must be “Heat Wave” going on. Then, I will turn on living room. Set to 29 or 30. Not much increase over $200.

My Mitsubishi aircon 10 years now need to on 18 deg than cold.

aircon tech told me need to replace it but I moving house next year so just ignore and wait until it totally die off
I think last time can lower until 16. Seems like this is an issue with all the Aircon as they age. U need to set a lower temperature to get the same coldness.
