Any idea how Taiwan is like during CNY period ? (E.g. shops/night market and also if there's any train operating around Taiwan?)

Where In Taiwan are you stating?
Trains will definitely operates unless of typhoon/earthquake etc.

Anyone taken China airlines to TW before? Their 23kg luggage for check-in only 1 piece?

i remember people saying china airlines not using shared luggage weight... if air tix is 1 piece 23kg then it's really 1 piece 23kg max...

@Joelleyuan is it like that for china airlines? Hehehe...

Maybe take Taipei for example, if possible to travel out maybe Taitung and etc.
maybe u list out the dates that you are travelling then easier to help with info... cos cny period means CNY eve, actual 1st and 2nd day? May be different...

Call their local office to check? Their counters are still manual check in, so I guess the person serving u can make the judgement? If it is automated, then probably applies to per piece?

Even scoot allow more than one piece as long as total weight don’t exceed. China airlines a bit dinosaur.

Currently looking from 10 Feb to 16 Feb. No specific location for now, but if trains are available that will be best.

How about 2 weeks before CNY ? Travelling on 25/01 . I want to enjoy the CNY atmosphere there but don’t want the crowd 😂
2 weeks before quite ok, i usually travel 2 weeks before CNY. next year i going 23 jan.

crowd ok unless your intend to go to Dihua street.
