For customised PC, is it better to use small, medium or large PC case?

my current small pc case actually has better airflow then my previous medium case that was about 6 years old.

i think its really about design.

i also not going to buy a gfx card that has like 3 fans so it can fit a standard 4060 (i am still using my old asus 1060 gtx which was considered quite big back in the day)

I'm looking at this dell. I see the review like a lot of good reviews

Such PC has 1 year warranty. DIY may not be cheaper but motherboard, cpu have 3 years warranty and rams are lifetime for brands like Kingston... Those 3 component covered the main build. And you can choose more reputed Samsung for SSD with 5 years warranty if I remember correctly... Power supply + casing can even get second hand from carousel cheap cheap.

You started this thread asking for customized PC which is the better option. Dell isn't better. Some people said they prefer to just go to Dell in case of any issue but there usually no issue on first year. One year + 1 day, your "Branded" OEM PC isn't going to better warranty than Diy.

Just go sim Lim look for dynacore/laser/PC theme/fuwell... Hope those shops are still around.

if you decide to get small case

do yourself a favour and check the prices of PCIe riser cable first

often you pay some small premium to go for a small footprint micro atx

but the premium to go mini itx is huge

Size of case depends on the cpu, cpu cooling, and gpu. Air cooler needs big case. Liquid AIO may also need big case for high power cpu. Eg, i7-14700K rated at 260W so need big air cooler that can cool at least 260-275W. AIO can go with 360mm RAD with 3x120mm fans. GFX also need lots of space especially high end cards like the 4090s. Powerful PC also needs big PSU, maybe 1000W full size ATX PSU. So depends on what you are building. If you are just building an i3 or Celeron with integrated graphics, small case will do.

P.S. The top rated air cooler for i7-14700K is Noctua NH-D15 and it has a height of 165mm so the case must be able to fit this monster air cooler!

I prefer min ITX so won’t take up too much space… but that usually costs more

Ok. Ok. Thanks for clarification. I never order or will never order such PC... Don't we called these type OEM PC just like Dell, HP, aftershock, Lenovo?
