Try workshops that don't sell tyres. Those oil change and repairs kind. During normal servicing they will also rotate the tyres, they will have the equipment to jack the car up and change the tyres for you.
If you go to JB tyre shop, you might encounter the same problem. The tyre shop does not want to be liable for tyres not bought from their shop.

Went to JB on Monday (3/jun). Didn’t realize it is public holiday in JB. Workshop all closed.

drove around and finally found one workshop that is open to do rotation/alignment for RM115.
first time see the workshop help to wash my rim after doing the rotation

you can try Mao Yang Pte Ltd at 274 MacPherson Rd~ i bought two tyres from carousel and got it replace there~ its a china man workshop, i did my servicing there also~ i can't rembr how much for the labour for tyre changing but servicing is $58 using shell helix ultra~ :s22:

Thanks. You're referring to Hong Fu Workshop?
Looks super run-down based on google maps.
Is it ok?

the actual workshop name may not be called Hong Fu cos there's no shop name~ his spray shop is the only car shop there~ ya, it looks like super basic backyard workshop but there's a spray room~ so far my friend, his friend and myself had tried panel beating and respray parts, all happy with it~

you intend to respray whole car~? :s22:

I prefer to settle mechanical parts in SG workshops. I can't imagine the car failing when I'm in JB or when faults occur I'm driving at high speed.

For superficial stuffs like car grooming or painting, doing it in JB is fine.

Think this guy bought just the bare rubber, 2nd hand, and is looking for a place to swap out his current tyres and swap in the used ones...

A normal tyre rotation place with just jack stands ain't gonna cut it.

For any other decent place, it should roughly be labour fees + $20/tyre to swap out the rubber tyres and put his used ones on.

Which means the $100 quote he got is actually a VERY fair amount to be quoted for.

And yet he still wants it cheaper... SMH.

Hi all, just to check can we just go over to LTEN PRO and ask the boss to assess which parts need to be changed? And if we didnt bring our own parts, will the price be somewhat similar to singapore price?

Thank you.

Thanks to your recommendation on Ah Eng.

After postponing at least 3 wkends (no thanks to the crazy sch hols)… i finally got my car fix up by him over the weekend.
- minor dents
- respray front & back
- mended the cracked and broken lower plastic bumper (most SG shops simply quoted me a new one)

RM600. I was quoted 650 in SG by 2 shops. So massive savings.

I’m no expert on cars.. but i felt he did ok. No complains on his workmanship. I honestly am not the type to tell what is good/bad. All I know is that I can’t tell where the previous damages were anymore.

Anyway, aside from his workmanship, he was
- prompt in replies via WhatsApp. Voice message him in Chinese/Hokkien
- keeps the car overnight stored in a sheltered “locked” shed
- will send you out after dropping your car (primarily cos his body shop is actually somewhat part of a metal works yard)
- accepts only cash or eWallet

The $650 quote included the new bumper?
