You misunderstood the point of the survey.

They stratified it to 3 groups: Below 21, 21-34, 35 and above. The 1st and 3rd groups are largely pointless to survey for obvious reasons. The whole idea is to assess whether women of ideal child-bearing age plan to do so.

And since they indicated the ages, it is likely they are able to stratify the data down to finer studies for changing perceptions.

After some searching for detail, this lead me to Singapore Perspective 2024 Youth and Family organised by Institute of Policy Studies.

According to Dr Shannon Ang ( Assistant Professor of College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Nanyang Technological University) alluded that having children is expensive and stressful. In addition, youths believe that parenting is too great a responsibility and are that they are unprepared for it.

The other challenges such as having to support an aging generation, and greater difficulty to replace their parents level of success, she added.

Once a girl's demands are too high, they will find it difficult to get a partner.

Back in those days, girls would still settle for less as there is true love. Nowadays, such cases are very rare. It's "true love" for money.
