Hi, would like to check if below quotation is reasonable for 3 bedroom resale condo. Thanks!

Mitsubishi Starmex (R32) System 4 - $5410 - $6010 (pending site visit)
- Condenser: MXY-4H33VG-SG1
- Fancoil: MSXY-FP10VG-SG1 x 2; MSXY-FP13VG-SG1 x 1; MSXY-FP24VG-SG1
- 22SWG copper pipe for refrigerant piping
- 1/2 inch thick Armaflex class O insulation for refrigerant pipe
- NCS PVC casing
- 16mm PVC pipe with 1/4 inch thick Armaflex class O insulation for drain water line
- 3G40 keystone/sigma wire for FCU to CU power supply and comm wiring
- 3G70 keystone/sigma wire for isolator to CU power supply
- 5 year compressor warranty by manufacturer
- 3 year workmanship by installer

I got quoted a Starmex Sys 2 + Sys 3 for the same price as your Sys 4. Materials all similar.

Hi,I’m planning to install a Mitsubishi 4-unit air conditioning system in my resale HDB flat(old type). I need three units for the bedrooms and one for the living hall. Could recommend which model would be suitable?

Just an update to the mitsubishi system 4 aircon that I just installed on 1st July. One of the room FCU (10k BTU) keep having some water droplets coming from the internal blower part and keep blowing out by the wind. Arranged for mitsubishi technicians to come down 2 times but they can't detect any issues... 2nd appointment they came and try to clean the cooling coil of the FCU (claiming there might be oil within the cooling coil which cause the leak of the water. Clean already also no use. still got water droplets drip out from within.

Emailed Mitsubishi and they are arranging to replace the heat exchanger of the FCU next week. Hopefully this resolve the issue.

This water leaking out issue does not happen everyday. It happens quite often (just not so severe as per the pic) but the picture shown below are taken when it's very severe and it's stream of water droplets coming out. Sometimes when I'm sitting directly below the aircon, it will feel like it's "drizzling" but no water can be seen on the FCU. But I can see perhaps 1 or 2 tiny water droplet on my arm so this mean the water is very little and it got blown out by the strong wind of the blower.

If anyone got same issue before, please let me know how Mitsubishi resolve your issue.

I am assuming system 2 + 3 is more ex cos more units required. In that case, the quotation I got is more expensive. Don’t mind sharing the installer contact? Thanks

His quote might be for HDB, condo generally more expensive.

Thinking of going for ME sys 3 but still contemplating on which vendor to use.
Anyone who has their aircon installed by GC, newway or coolserve, possible to review if their worksmanship are good and which you recommend? Thanks

250 really not cheap slightly less than half price of one FCU already, thanks for reminding about the sun, have to factor this in too.

for the routing of the drainage pipe, i wonder if anyone has routed it to the wash basin (shorter path) rather than all the way down to the floor trap (longer path), other than asthetics issue not really a problem right.
Hygiene is another concern if u route to ur basin. But up to u. Should be fine.

me is coolserve, worksmanship so far ok ok, as in insulation have plenty of space, no sudden 90c bend curve, so far no leak (me dont on daily just once a week but soon will be 24/7 for 3 days), AC very cooling (but nv vacuum only using feon to Purch) now almost 11mth, still very cooling.

no issues so cant fault them, but workmanship issues can take up to 3 yr to surface

An update to my issue. Changed heat exchanger and didn’t encounter any leaking anymore for 5 days. Looks good to me already. And Mitsubishi did vacuuming and re-topup of the aircon gas again after changing the heat exchanger. Now my room aircon feel like real brand new again

Salesman quoted 3x9k and 1x24kbbtu, and a 33k compressor for a 4rm bto.

Anyone can advise 24k for living room is an overkill? Is 18k sufficient for a L shape living and dining area. Closed kitchen concept

Also wonder the 33k compressor can support if I can switch on all 4 ac at the same time?

Add up all the 4fcu capacity and you will know it is impossible for 4H33 (assuming starmex) to support

Any sales man I met in the past 12months at least asked us for the floor plan but still gave some wrong recommendations.

unless we are gods here, please show us the floor plan and show with us your usage pattern. We cannot read into your mind and spy on your new flat.

In short, you cannot turn on 4 ac at the same time as the total energy required is 51kbtu which exceed your 33k
So if you always turn on 4 ac at the same time, I think you need to install 2 system instead. But that depends on often do you turn on 4 ac at the same time.

I got similar quote with the salesman and ID 3x9kbtu and 1x24kbtu + 33k compressor, reason behind is that if you turn on ac in bedroom, total energy is 27kbtu or if you turn on living room + 1 bedroom, total would be 33kbtu which match the compressor. And I seldom turn on the living room aircon so I am fine with the setup

Even 3 FCU for bedrooms I would suggest to turn on 1 by 1 with 30mins gap to allow staggered power use for faster cooling down

Am planning to change a system 2 for my 2 room condo ?
Is it better to use 2 x system 1 or a system 2?
What are the rated BTU for these compressors ? Tried to find but couldn't get those numbers.
1. Mitsubishi Electric MXY-2H20
2. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries SCM60YSW
3. Daikin M50VVMG and M75VVMG

Thanks in advanced !
