Yesterday I was at HQ, they told me FD 6mth hv 3.5 / 3.55 %

But you have to also lock in 6mth 10% of ur FD amount in some other regular savings account which u hv to open and maintain $500 to avoid fall below for tat account
maybank use lockin sum strategy for many years liao

so far, ok, because overall it is still a little bit more than other banks

good for folks who don't want to put everything in one basket

But Maybank like to enforce 20k minimum. CIMB only 10k. BOC 5k. ICBC 500. It is important becuz say you got X dollars you want to split them up and put in many banks diversify mah.

Can utilize the existing $500 in iSavy Saving account?
That is used for DIY place FD. The other is deposit bundle is need put or open new account which strangely no iSavvy I also dunno why and it is only a bit higher after all calculation and then you stuck with that new account which impose a minimum else minus fall below fee after your FD matured.

Have u heard abt Mari invest? It is abt 3.5%.
Ya but it is basically a fund and the return is not guaranteed though. I already put some into it. I have a few expiring syfe guaranteed deposits and now it drops to 3.2%, wondering anything similar in the market with higher return with short term duration.

Looks like there isn’t much alternative at the moment given the dropping interest rate trend
