Thanks for the info! The dentist still say go back for implant consultation 2 mths later, i shall not kena chop carrot for consultation fee and just go for consultation plus work afterwards.

Typically 3 to 6 months, can do same day implant provided minimal bone loss, high bone density, no infection of tissue, accompaning bone grafting and include Photobiomodulation laser therapy for fast healings.

Downside, not many dentists can do this 🤣

Why full removal of tooth in the first place? are you having gum issues ? bone loss on top arch?

By description, it seems like your case quite complicated and my suggestion is not to for general dentist on this.
I will suggest you to seek second opinion from Oral & Maxillofacial specialist with regards to implants.

Downside is high cost.

How high would the cost be? I'm having anxiety so I did not visit any dental ending with removing all under GA.

Only hospital can perform dental surgery under GA.

I can empathise with your anxiety, probably you have a phobia going to dentist. It is a pity you ended up removing all your natural teeth.

I am not exactly sure how much will it cost to do implants under Oral & Maxillofacial specialist. You may want to have a consultation first and find out from doc. You may want to check if you can claim medisave for the surgery as well.

Let me know if you need someone to recommend. That is probably what I can only do for you. I wish you all the best.

Studies show success rate above 80%.

Jaw advancement surgery is often considered only if sleep apnea is way too serious I believe.

Few options I would suggest if your case is still moderate.

1. Consider wearing a dental sleep device that move lower jaw forward while you sleep. You can get that from dentist whom specialist in sleep medicine.

2. You can also try a very minimal invasive laser therapy call Nightlase. The laser light cause your loose tissues to tighten through the neocollagenesis process at the back of your throat, hence opening the airway somewhat. Effective for snoring, also improve mild sleep apnea patients. Nighlase is easy procedures, take 10 mins, 4 times a year. No need to wear devices.

If you need contact for either option, PM me.

did rct + crowning on my upper 2nd molar a couple of years ago and now the crown is loose after bitting on a peanut or something

there is no pain and I still can bite

visited a dentist and he said it's due to the tooth fracture and bacteria can get inside the tooth from the loose crown and advise me to get an extraction and then do an implant as soon as possible

should I follow his instruction?

Did your dentist do a CT scan on your root canal to identify where the tooth fracture and show you?

How bad is the crack and location of the crack? Near pulp chamber or inside the roots ?

If you do not have all these info? Please visit a endo specialist to check it out if you don't..

I think you should try to save the tooth first before going for the implant...

You have to do it as soon as possible so that bacterial wont get into the roots .. otherwise you will need some surgery to remove the infection or get laser treatment to disinfect the infected tissue.

Had a RCT completed on my upper first molar abt one month back. It was fine in the first 2 weeks. Then I started getting a pain in the area like sensitive tooth kind of pain, not on the tooth itself thou, I couldn’t pinpoint the pain source. It was uncomfortable but not that painful. I hv no basis for what I’m thinking but based on my own instincts, hehe, I think cos the dentist had purposely made this RCT tooth shorter to prep for crowning, the tooth next to it had become more exposed and sensitive and caused general pain. Plus I hv tooth grinding issues after RCT. My qn is, is it normal for a dentist to prep the tooth for crowning during the last RCT session? Dentist suggests I wait and see if the pain goes away before doing the crown. Now my second molar on the other side broke and I’m not sure if I can trust the same dentist to do another RCT.

Lets address all the points

1. Sensitivity around the tooth after RCT is not normal.

2. Made tooth shorter to prep crown will not cause sensitivity unless the next tooth already has receding gum with exposed dentine or root. You need to find out from the dentist.

3. Tooth grinding issue after RCT done is questionable. Tooth grinding shouldnt be associated with RCT. You probably already have it but with RCT done, there is possibility that the grinding could affect your tooth.

4. Yes, I believe dentist always prep tooth for crowning. During the waiting period, the tooth is sealed.

5. Second Molar broke, could it be due to your grinding? The sensitive you get could be due to this I think.

So now the qns. Is this dentist an Endodontist?

If no, I seriously think you should visit a endo specialist and visit fast.

Thanks for the advice. I will get it checked at a endodontist. Visited the RCT dentist to get it checked yday as there was still pain when eating and gum felt a little sore. He said nothing is wrong with my gum, live with it or extract. I can live with it but I would also want to find out the root cause. Perhaps a retreatment will help. Will see wat endo says.

Yah sounds complicated, get a good oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon to attend to your case if possible.

My guess your gum disease is not severe type, after deep clean better to maintain tooth hygiene because it is likely to come back. I will recommend a laser dentist for you to follow up next time because laser will disinfect and control the disease better n less invasive.

For Invisalign, throw a stone and a dentist could do the job. If you need laser and invasalign in a same clinic, PM me.
