Hello all! I’m looking to build a rig to play Black Myth Wukong and other games like Dota/Maplestory. The last time I built a rig, it was almost 10 years ago. Although the rig is working but I don’t think it can support playing Wukong.

I’ve been looking at InvaderPC’s build and was interested in their Master M15 build but did some research have decided to up my budget and get something that I’ll really like and will last me a long time.

Have come up with the below build and will be going to Dynacore to get everything there.

R5 7600+ & MSI B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI
SAPPHIRE AMD RADEON PURE RX 7800XT
TEAM T-FORCE DELTA RGB DDR5 6000MHz CL30
WD Black SN850X NVMe M.2 - 1 TB
WD Blue SN580/Team T-Force MP44L Nvme M.2 - 1 TB
Toshiba P300 - 2 TB
Seasonic Focus GX 750W ATX3.0 Pcie5 80+ Gold
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 ARGB Air Cooler
Phanteks NV5 White Casing

Reason for two SSD - one for OS and the other for games and applications.

Can also advice is there’s any difference between Nitro+ and Pure? Would be more keen to get Pure as I’m going for all white build.

Will be getting everything during the 10/10 sale. Can help to see if the above build is good to go? Anything I need to change?

Will also be getting this monitor - GIGABYTE M34WQ

Thanks in advance!! 🙏🏼

We do video editing, excel, word documents, photoshop and looking to run some basic AI tools.
if just these and no gaming, realistically cheap (<$600) igpu builds will suffice. even mini pcs can do these well enough these days on a 1440p monitor.
I play DOTA/Call of Duty but would like to try some AAA titles like Black Myth Wukong but not sure if I need to up my budgets to run at these resolutions.

Any rig recommendations for below 1.5k-2k each?
dota is simple to run, so again, igpu builds will be enough for it. cod and wukong will require dgpu for playable performance though. within ur budget of 2k, best u can do brand new is a 4070 super build. prebuilt companies are quite competitve in this price class, with 7600 + 7800xt builds below 1.4k and 7600 + 4070s builds around 1.6k. either of these builds will do about 60fps in 1440p wukong high settings with similar price to performance ratios, though u may be swayed by nvidia's feature set (dlss, better rt performance). either way, best to upgrade the nvme, ram and psu to better quality ones since u have the budget for them anyway. if u prefer diy, u can refer to the first post enthusiast rig reco, and swap out the gpu if required.
R5 7600+ & MSI B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI
i think the $170 premium for the b650/m aorus elite ax ice for a more fully featured board and the white aesthetic would be well worth it. u can also save $30 opting for the 7500f, which is basically the same as the 7600 less the igpu.
TEAM T-FORCE DELTA RGB DDR5 6000MHz CL30
i would save the $15 and get the adata xpg lancer blade rgb in white from pckaki 1 floor above.
Seasonic Focus GX 750W ATX3.0 Pcie5 80+ Gold
dynacore psu prices are usually not super competitive. since u are not in need of 12vhpwr with the 7800xt, i would again go to pckaki for the adata xpg core reactor 850w for $129. tbh, even 650w would be enough imo, so opting for the cooler master v650 v2 for another $10 off (as mentioned in my previous post) can be viable, plus since it already comes in white u probably dont need to purchase additional white cable extensions.
Can also advice is there’s any difference between Nitro+ and Pure? Would be more keen to get Pure as I’m going for all white build.
nitro+ is their flagship card and has their best cooling solution on offer. thats not to say the pure is bad, but it will run slightly hotter, though not alarmingly so. performance should be identical between the cards. personally though, id go for the powercolor hellhound spectral white, its cheaper on techyard than either of the sapphire cards, runs even cooler than the nitro+, is fully white including the pcb unlike the pure and u get 1y longer warranty.

Hello everyone! Looking to upgrade / my CPU of 8 years and thinking to follow @NightRaven49 "enthusiast gaming ring build". Appreciate the hardwork especially for noobies like me.
Thinking to get everything from Dynacore or Pcthemes.
Any review about the Factal North XL case?

Can I ask if this build will be good for 1440P gaming especially for games like Wukong? I also like to play FPS games Or should I spurge $450 more and do a 7800X3D + Sapphire RX7900 GRE combo? Would that be overkill?

Secondly, below is my current CPU, anything worth to salvage?

Intel i7-7700 3.6Ghz + MSI B250M Bazooka
DDR4 2133Mhz CL15 Kingston 16GB Single
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
WD 1TB Blue
Zotac GTX1070 AMP 8GB
EVGA G3 SuperNova 650W
Tecware Edge

Thank you very much

Thank you for your advice! @NightRaven49

I've taken into account your input and modified my list accordingly. Will be going for the cooler master PSU at 750W for future proofing (can't find a white version for the adata xpg core reactor)

For the GPU, I checked techyard and the pricing for the powercolor hellhound spectral white is $779. It's the same price as the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 7800XT at Dynacore. Would you still suggest going for the powercolor GPU?

Do you know if I can get everything at Dynacore but get the RAM and GPU from the places you suggested and bring it to them to help fix it together? Or should I go to somewhere else instead?

R5 7500F & GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX ICE
Powercolor Radeon RX 7800XT | Hellhound Spectral White
ADATA XPG Lancer Blade RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
WD Black SN850X NVMe M.2 - 1 TB
Wd Blue SN580/Team T-Force MP44L Nvme M.2 - 1 TB
Toshiba P300 - 2 TB
Cooler Master V750 Gold White Edition V2 Full Modular, 750W
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 ARGB Air Cooler - [White]
Phanteks NV5 White Casing

Thank you @NightRaven49

I saw that the 7600x is at a really good price on AMZ now. I think this has an iGPU right?

Would the enthusiast build still work at my resolution (3840 x 1600) as I'm looking to max out the settings for Wukong/COD. Prefer an Nvidia card to take advance of g-sync too, so now sure if 4070 Super will suffice.

Will prefer a similar/same build for my wife, but maybe a white-themed one.

Any suggestions? It's been like 9 years since I build a PC lol

thanks!

wukong too demanding if you plan to run on native, only 4090 barely make the cut.

The rest of the gpu will need dlss or fg to hit high fps at cinematic settings.

i tested on my 7800x3d with 7900xtx and a 7600x with a 6700xt

i really did not know that wk was so high end... 4090 barely making the cut? then its better just using back ur old card now then upgrade via the new gen

I see, is it better then to just build an iGPU based system now, and then add in the new gen cards to play wukong in a few months?

well coz if paying 2k for 4090 barely making the cut.. its like no point.
u could pay less for 5080 or a 5090.....
of coz if u can wait that is.. if not then u can just buy no one is stopping you...

it will be good for 1440p gaming. i would only go 78x3d if the games u play benefit from the larger l3 cache, otherwise it is selling at too much of a premium to be worth it, and 6c zen4 is still very capable for gaming. for the 7900gre, it would be worth maybe a 10% increase in total build cost, but only if u are willing to max out the memory speed slider in the driver.
Will the Factal Design Mood Case fit this build?
no, the mood only supports sfx parts. this means the mobo, cooler and psu from the enthusiast reco are too large and u will have to find smaller replacements (which also generally cost more). the case is also not very good for airflow, so it may run quite loud.
Secondly, below is my current CPU, anything worth to salvage?

Intel i7-7700 3.6Ghz + MSI B250M Bazooka
DDR4 2133Mhz CL15 Kingston 16GB Single

Zotac GTX1070 AMP 8GB

maybe the psu? the rest just lelong.

im not sure if the silver nitro+ would blend in nicely with the rest of ur white parts. the better cooling and longer warranty would sway me towards the hellhound regardless.
Do you know if I can get everything at Dynacore but get the RAM and GPU from the places you suggested and bring it to them to help fix it together? Or should I go to somewhere else instead?
most sls shops do offer build services even for parts not bought at their store, usually they will charge an additional build fee. do inquire on that amount before proceeding.
I saw that the 7600x is at a really good price on AMZ now. I think this has an iGPU right?
yes. but u likely wont be using it much since ur already getting a dgpu.

cinematic is too demanding to be played on anything less than a 4080. 4070s should be fine for 1440p high settings.
Will prefer a similar/same build for my wife, but maybe a white-themed one.

Any suggestions?
u can roughly follow plainwat3r's build, minus the additional storage, though i would just get a cheap mini pc if not heavy gaming. should be quite easy to find a white zen4 mini pc that can pack a punch, else a custom paint job would be nice too.
wukong too demanding if you plan to run on native, only 4090 barely make the cut.

The rest of the gpu will need dlss or fg to hit high fps at cinematic settings.
its called cinematic settings for a reason. sticking to high settings should get u 95% of the way there but at actually playable fps.
I see, is it better then to just build an iGPU based system now, and then add in the new gen cards to play wukong in a few months?
if ur looking at upper midrange cards like the 4070s, then u might as well buy the card now since new gen lower tier models will take a while to launch compared to the flagships. but if ur willing to save up money to splurge on the new gen, then this is a decent idea.

Yea, I agree the the Hellhound will match the rest of the parts better. Thank you for your recommendations!

Will probably head down to SLS today or tomorrow and get my new rig :)

Thanks @NightRaven49 and @deepblue_82 !

I'm not in a real rush to upgrade, so will perhaps wait for the next gen of cards.

Any specific models of mini pc for my wife to recommend?

I've only built mATX or ATX builts, so have no experience with small PCs haha
