Aiyoh.
My HIP is due in a couple of years' time.
I go toilet frequently , especially at night.
Will it really stink?
Happened to people you know ?

I did not take the portable toilet so not sure. Someone already mentioned not to take as the urine smell will last many days even after completion of HIP

The plastic sheets will still fall off or tear..

The secondary plastic sheets will be handled by the HIP workers. The primary ones will be my concern. I'll need to monitor and make good if there are tears

I asked the hacking worker and he said to keep the same kerb
Will be hacked away after the first day;

If you are the "PM" or "PIC" then just make sure they do the kerb during the 5th or 6th day.

They should have some diagrams + writing on a piece of paper that is pasted outside the toilet.

IIRC they do one toilet by one toilet, so the hacking is like almost everyday, you don't stop hearing hacking and drilling.

Just it's dusty to stay in the house. My neighbours did it, they hired the sealer service to seal up the place, the workers go in and out for 2 weeks (except Sundays)

I didn't opt in as I just bought the unit and did full renovation works before I got the HIP letter. So everything opt out. It's noisy as h3ll,.

I had to take my exam at home and I asked them to stop hacking and drilling for an hour half for me to finish my exam it was really horrible do WFH.

Yah likely they'll hack away the existing kerb and make a new one. They'll do exactly not deviating from the original

It defaults to two toilets simultaneously thus 10 working days;

I heard some say you can request for one toilet at a time so a total of around 20 days to complete (for old folks?).

Congratulations to ts, spent $7,000 and then can sell your HDB for another $70,000 more as HIPed flat! 👍💪 10 times the profit!!!

HIP only costs 2K plus. If engage outside contractor to renovate the 2 toilets will cost 10K+ ah

I have been waiting for mine. So cheap, $2,000 only? Or the subsidy is depending on the income level? Can't wait to have mine...the. Pay $2,000, equal to $10,000 renov, then sell house for $50,000 more as "upgraded flat"!!!

These are the kind of superb benefits from this government, how not to like? Edmwers still jjww about HDB/BTO... Really ungrateful.

Did you also opt in for 1x bidet in each toilet under the EASE 2.0 scheme?

IMO, it is very cheap (after subsidised) and useful/handy.

Went through the HIP process last year while still living in the unit, also did the same dust proofing myself. The first 2 days will be a total mess with a lot of dust.
Would advise you to keep some empty bottles at home in case of a full bladder and the workers utilising the lift in the morning period for the work. Would be better if you wake up earlier before the workers start coming in to wash up and use the toilet. Do also have some pails ready for getting water from common toilet for own use, so that you don’t have to go down so often.

Yes, added bidet for each toilet. Change the 2x toilet bowls. Keep the 2x small sinks

Therir sinks are large size. I have those grab bars so not enough space to use their large size sinks

My mom in on wheelchair, even if have toilets below also very troublesome if in the middle of the night need to wheel down.

Kind of thankful the purchase was done at right time and I did a full renovation works including toilets.

When they did water testing, I also requested morning test 1 toilet, noon test one, I cannot have both tested at the same time due to my mom's immobility.

Good thing is when I leave home or come home, I can use the toilet downstairs... hehe, my sister and some others take water from the toilets wash car. One uncle practically went to every portable toilet at HIP site to shower and go home.

My side now resuming some HIP units. Think these are teachers or people who cannot take leave during the actual HIP and has to wait for school holidays before doing HIP. The HIP people are flexible within means for special cases.

Down side is... the workers use the lifts heavily, do allocate like 10mins more to your travelling time. You will see the lift stop at 2, 3, 4, 5, .... 14. Then door open, you see workers inside with cement, tiles tools, then you got wheelchair, no need go in, wait for next.

I woke up at 5am. Did the necessary wash up and boil water.

The water supply is shut off throughout the day until evening 5pm. They'll turn it on again. By then I can get water to boil for the night

Bathing amd toilet use all downstairs
