Is there any data that shows the these workers caused burden to their family and will cause the gov to feed them eventually~?

Taxi is one of the longest trade with most didn't contribute to CPF, did taxi drivers caused a burden to the gov~?

What I see is that these gig works are the relief to the gov & society, without these jobs, many will be jobless~ :s22:
I tiagong that if one did not contribute certain amount into Medisave, they don't renew your taxi licence.

Anyway, beside taxi, property & insurance agent no need to need to contribute CPF. Why didn't govt close the loophole?

Gov already decided to under pay blue collar workers a long time ago .
Even underpay low-end white-collar admin (non-executive) support staff,
now compulsory to pay higher medical premiums with savings/cashouts from housing when RETIRED and AGED.
Haize - society going to segregate out the aged.

Everyone got to pay tax. It's good that govt make them pay, although it's quite late coming. We should not let these workers feel left out, broke, and cannot hit FRS.

Only for those who opted in right? Those that did not, only hab to top up medisave only ma. To these gig workers, see la, ownself don't noe how to save, want govt to step in to take the responsibility, now got no choice liao.
Actually for those gig worker tat opt in also make no sense, cos chiu can ownself top up chiur CPF otot wat.
Opt in better.. get employer portion.. else lugi.. but many will still choose not to.. maybe they don't need cpf cause stay rental flat very cheap every month??

I don't forsee it will die out. Now with so many strawberry gen all lazy to go out you think they won't wanna pay meh?
Even if one bowl of Mee cost $10.50 but the platform delivery charge is $20. Total $30.50 people also willing to pay.
You outdated liao. That's not how the platform works..
Food $10.50 buy from shop..
Platform charge $20 but delivery free etc..

sigh... some of them asked for it lah. haolian earnings somemore... those who will feel the impact deeply are those who are caring for aged sick parent or kid who need to go clinic and hospital frequently. thats why some of them chose to do this job.

Gig workers where got "employer" one, more like cut ownselves to pay or forced savings for selves!
