Apple no longer allows the operating system drivers for USB wifi adapters.

What's guaranteed to work is the following combination:

  1. A Wifi range extender or travel router or pocket router that has an Ethernet port.
  2. A USB-C Ethernet adapter or USB-C hub with Ethernet port and USB-C power provider.
  3. An Ethernet cable to connect the two.

nvm east rise west fall

we go support ah tiong products more

What’s the best way to recontract to the 5gbps Ont with hb710 if one is an existing 1gbps customer but contract ending in 10 days?
Tried the following today
Online - the link does not load after log in
Starhub store - they said don’t have this offer
1630 - they said don’t have this offer

Hi bro
You will need to sign up again
Let your contract expire and sign up. Forget recontract, not everyone gets that deal.

Based on the reports here, you have a few choices. You can try them. Take note this is technically not a recontract offer but rather you sign up as a new user and then cancel the existing one.
1) sign up using another family member's name, using the online link
2) go to another shop and show them the link.
3) WhatsApp Selina at 81161630

I WhatsApp Selina for signing up to the 5gbps ONT recently, hassle free and settled within 1 or 2 days.
Waiting for my installation now.

My 1gbps plan has expired years ago and came upon this thread with all these discussions, so decided to sign up. Currently paying ~$40 so why not with $29.55, although i will still be using my old EA8100 router.

But I saw the post with SH offering free HB710 router with the ONT plan, I will be asking Selina if my plan has/can include since its out on SH page. :ROFLMAO:

The promo offer for recontract keeps changing, so it is useful to check the app prior to installation.

3 weeks ago, I was only offered $30.37 for ONT with no router or ONR with 1 free Nokia ONR. I signed up for ONR but last Fri when I checked the app again, ONT option now includes free Hb710 router. Called SH to switch to this option. They obliged and kept my original installation date too.

Bought a cheap Xiaomi BE3600 from Taobao as an AP for my bedroom since I only needed 1Gps.

Not a bad deal considering l was paying the same for 500Mpbs plan and now can replace my old router for free.

Yes this is a very good deal where SH push down the promotion via their App. Actually this router wifi should be able to cover the whole HDB 4 room flat unless the unit is very big. You connect via wifi 6 Windows 10/11 laptop can get beyond 1Gbps speed test.

Hi, I went ahead and gone to SH shop to sign up for their HomeHub+ Ultraspeed ONT package https://www.starhub.com/personal/st...ducts/wifi-7--_asian_-homehub-ultraspeed.html since I needed Sports n Premier League soccer. Total deal is $110 per month for 2 years, including 2 years Netflix Premium ($25.98) and VIU package. Cheaper by $96 as I'm on cross carriage for the Premier League and non-contract with ST for my 1G plan with MioTV and Netflix subscription. Installation has been confirmed to be 2 weeks later.

Currently I only have 1x Asus GT-AX6000 as my primary AP with Singtel ONR. I went to check again and saw that I have 2.5G ethernet on my 2 desktop pc in the room. They are connected via a Dlink DGS-1008A gigabit switch and Cat5e. Dlink switch is also connected via another Cat 5e cable from living room (15 years HDB BTO).

After installation completed for SH 10G with EB810v router, can I remove Dlink and just use GT-AX6000 as a switch for those 2 pc so as to maximise the 2.5G bandwidth? AX6000 has only 2x 2.5G port, so 1 incoming Cat5e will go to one of this port, and the 2nd 2.5G port for 1 pc. How about connection to 2nd pc? Which port to use for 2.5G? Is it from 1 of the 1G lan port on AX6000 and enable Load Balance Mode in Dual Wan function? Both pc will then get similar 2.5G speedtest result if they are being used at same time?

In the tech spec for this AX6000, there is also a Wan aggregation that can give up to 3.5G bandwidth which I read is not supported in Singapore?

Is my current Cat 5e cables ok to run for my example above?

Thanks.

I am also on the same plan. Actually the TP-Link EB810V has one 10Gbps LAN port and three 2.5Gbps LAN ports. You can connect the PCs directly to the TP-Link Router via Cat. 6 or 5E LAN cables. 10Gbps port on the router also should be able to support 2.5G PC. Unless you do not have enough LAN port on your TP-Link router then you need a 10G switch but look like you have enough ports. This plan is very good.

Hi, unfortunately, I cannot do that as both pc are in study room. The EB810 will be in the TV console area, next to the Fibre terminal. My house don have this DB box or lan port in the rooms.

Then just use Wifi 7/6 client and you should get beyond 1Gbps speed.

Hi, unfortunately, I cannot do that as both pc are in study room. The EB810 will be in the TV console area, next to the Fibre terminal. My house don have this DB box or lan port in the rooms.

1. Your original setup:
Singtel ONR in Liviring Room -> Asus GT-AX6000 (as main AP) in Living Room TV Console Area
Singtel ONR in Living Room --> Ethernert cable --> D-Link Switch in Study room --> two PCs in study room

2. I think you use the following configuration

Starhub XGS-PON ONT --> TP-Link EB810v (10G WAN port) as main router in Living Room TV Console Area
EB810V 2.5G LAN port --> Ethernet cable --> Asus GT-AX6000 in AP mode (2.5G WAN port, up to 2.5Gbps)
Asus GT-AX6000 2.5G LAN port --> first PC (up to 2.5Gbps)
Asus FT-AX6000 1G LAN port --> second PC (up to 1Gbps)

The two PCs will share 2.5G bandwdith, due to the limitations of GT-AX6000 2.5G WAN port. First PC will be up to 2.5Gbps, second PC will be up to 1Gbps, two PC combined will be up to 2.5Gbps.

3. If you want both the PCs to get full 2.5G switch, then you have to get a 10G/2.5G switch.

Starhub XGS-PON ONT --> TP-Link EB810v (10G WAN port) as main router in Living Room TV Console Area
EB810V 10G LAN port --> Ethernet cable --> 2.5G/10G switch in Study room (first 10G port)
Switch 10G port 2 --> future wired device
Switch 2.5G port 1 --> Asus GT-AX6000 in AP mode (2.5G WAN port, up to 2.5Gbps)
Switch 2.5G port 2 --> first PC (up to 2.5Gbps)
Switch 2.5G port 3 -> second PC (up to 2.5Gbps)

The two PCs will be able to have its own dedicated 2.5Gbps bandwidth in this case (total 5Gbps)

One option for the switch: Hasivo S600W-4GT-2XGT-SE, RMB 499 listed, quad 2.5G ports, two 10G RJ45 ports, at about RMB 499 plus shipment and GST from Taobao.

Hasivo S600W-4GT-2XGT-SE is probably the cheapest you can find. You should look at the price at Taobao 海思视讯 shop and it is only at RMB 699 listed price --> now about RMB 499 in Feb 2025.

Hasivo S600W-4GT-2SX-SE, RMB 219 listed, quad 2.5G ports, two 10G SFP+ ports
Hasivo S600W-4GT-1SX-1XGT-SE, RMB 399 listed, quad 2.5G ports, one 10G RJ45 port and one 10G SFP+ port
Hasivo S600W-4GT-2XGT-SE, RMB 499 listed, quad 2.5G ports, two 10G RJ45 ports

Hi Xiaofan,

I saw on the hidden link provided for you for the SH promo. It states that the installation and activation are free however during the signing up process, stated there is a one time charge of $61+? Any idea if this charge is waive off or will be charge?

Kindly advise, thanks!

Yes, I WhatsApp Selina today and she said she will help me resubmit but pending approval. My installation is originally on 07 Mar.
She said this SH offer is to match against M1 recently launched plan.

For my case through Selina, she mentioned it will be waived off.
On the contract agreement, it will show this one-time charge of $61.04. But a few lines down, there will be another clause showing 'Service Activation Fee Waiver for Home Broadband_100%'.
Likely its the same for everyone.

The reports here say the NLT charger of S$61.40 is waived.

Are you a new user or existing Starhub user signing up as a new user?

For the second type, all the reports I read show that NLT charge of S$61.40 is waived. Please confirm with Starhub CS.

If you are the first type (new to Starhub), you may want to check with the Starhub CS as well. By right it is also waived.
