For the Singtel hiddend links mentioned in the Post #3 of the sticky thread at the top of this forum section, I will check the validity of the links from time to time.

⚡️💻 [Official] README First! 2025 SG ISP Comparison & Latest Promo Deals! ✨
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...sg-isp-comparison-latest-promo-deals.6665380/

Interestingly the older 5Gbps recontract offer at S$29.90 per month is back again. Now there are two "hidden offer links" at the same S$29.90 per month pricing.

Singtel recontract offer for 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps:

1) Offer #1
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/broadband/eform/recon-dm/fibre-5g
5Gbps Enhanced plan at $29.90/mth (U.P. $95.90/mth)
Comes with 1 unit of Singtel AX5400 WiFi 6 mesh device

Terms & Conditions
All offers are valid till 30 April 2025 and for existing Fibre Broadband customers only. Promotion is valid for
existing Singtel Fibre Broadband customers and who have fulfilled at least 21 months of their 24 month Fibre
Broadband contract.

2) Offer #2
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/broadband/eform/recon-edm/5gbps-plan
5Gbps Enhanced Plan at $29.90/mth (U.P. $95.90/mth)
Comes with 1 x Singtel AX5400 WiFi 6 device

Terms & Conditions
All offers are valid till 19 March 2025 and for existing Fibre Broadband customers only. Promotion is valid for
existing Fibre Broadband customers who have fulfilled at least 21 months of their 24month Fibre Broadband
contract.
I browse both links and still cannot see any differences. Can point out to me? Thanks. :)

1) I think this is a pretty decent recontract deals with dual TP-Link HB611-SGST. In fact I tend to believe this is the best SingTel recontract deal reported in this forum recently.

2) No issues if you want to move out of SingTel in the future.
Thanks for your very fast reply!

I'm signing as a new user (moving out of my parents'), so this isn't a recontract.

But so, it's still a good package even though it's ONR, right?

And thank you again for sharing your knowledge!

Hello experts. So I just came back from the IT Show, where I happily signed up for Singtel's WiFi7 plan as a new user for my new resale home (waiting to undergo renovation).

Plan details:
3Gbps Enhance Fibre Hm HDL
$39.70/mth
Includes 2 x Singtel WiFi 7 router (TP Link HB611)

What attracted me to sign up on the spot was because they threw in one more extra router while keeping the price at $39.70, which I was told by the rep that served me that if I had signed up online, I would only have one router at that price.

So after coming home, I was going through the service agreement and googling the router to see if it's good. Which then brought me to this forum, and now I'm facing a bit of buyer's remorse.

I've read the ONT vs ONR post (which admittedly, I don't really understand fully, which proves I'm no power user), and the 2025 SG ISP comparison and latest promo thread, and I'm now wondering if I should have gone with the Starhub 5Gbps offer at S$29.55, with XGS-PON ONT+HB710, since it's cheaper and is ONT instead of ONR.

Questions:
1) Any take if I've really made a bad impulsive order? Or it's actually fine seeing as I'm obviously no power user.

2) Suppose I carry on with this Singtel plan, will I encounter any issue moving from ONR to ONT with another ISP in the future?

I believe there's no penalty for terminating because I've yet to activate the service. Would love to hear your thoughts.

just sharing.

i was offered to migrate from my M1 -> Singtel Gbps at $29.90 (3mbps) back in Nov24 with installation end Mar25. (door to door offer) (end Mar 25 is coz my M1 contract will only end in the next 1 week+)

I just requested to terminate the ST installation last week as I think the M1 recontract offer is better at $32.90.
I was then attracted to ST (back in Nov24) as it came with Disney+ 12 mths foc as I am subscribing to it too anyway. (and cheaper than my M1 plan at $40+)
(they told me termination no penalty too)

I didn't mind the ST ONR at first as I am not really a power user and current 1Gbps is serving me fine.
but after reading the bad 1x wifi 6 router it is giving here, then like will have difficulty expanding ONR (too confusing for me the bridging and what not) network, i changed my mind and will be recontracting with M1 later this week. (pending ST's confirmation on the termination of the new contract)

Your is 2x wifi 7 so should be better than my ST offer at $29.90 (with only 1x wifi 6 onr)

Yes I will say it is a good package from SingTel, better than any other new sign-up or recontract offers from SingTel that have been reported in this forum.

The other good offer from SingTel is the targeted 5Gbps recontract offer at S$29.90 per month, but it comes with a lousy SingTel AX5400 router only.

Whether this offer is better or the S$29.55 per month Starhub 5Gbps offer (ONT + free HB710) is better will depend on the needs of individual users.

I am deciding whether to recontract this $29.90 plan and I will be using Unifi U7 Pro with Singtel ONR. Is this good enough for a normal 4 room flat?

If you want to go with Ubiquiti Unifi stuff, I will suggest you forget about SingTel.

Ubiquiti --> not a good match with SingTel ONR.

I had been using Amplify Alien for few years till today and had no issues. So, just thinking whether to upgrade to Unifi U7 Pro.

I will say the two (AmpliFi vs Unifi) are totally different, even though both are from the same company.

You may want to go to the Ubiquiti Unifi thread to check out. I believe most of the experts there will suggest you to forget about SingTel.

Can I check with the gurus here.

A friend had just installed the 10GBPS plan.

was provided 02 x HB611 wifi router.

It was set as AP mode - The app doesnt show much tweaking options such as channel selection or 320mhz for the 6ghz bandwidth.

Speed tested his 6ghz wifi - received dismal results - less than 600mbps
Significantly lower than my own wifi at home (I am only using 1gbps broadband)

Should i put it as a router mode (Double NAT) to gain more option settings?

By right the wireless settings should be there, no matter you use router mode or AP mode.

What is the device used for testing? Tested against the main HB611-SGST or the second HB611-SGST? Are you using wireless backhaul or Ethernet backhaul between the two HB611-SGST?

Thanks xiaofan.

at this moment, he has not hooked up the second mesh unit yet, so it is the main node

used a iPhone 16pro

the app is like super simplified…can change wifi name / wifi password

Didn’t see the option to set 20/40/80/160 or 320 mhz…

need to go find the user guide then 😊😊

Singtel is really bad in terms of free wireless routers given for the 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps plans, especially the cheaper base plans.

Look at Starhub:
3Gbps plan --> ONT + HB410 (2.5G capable, dual 2.5G ports and dual 1G ports, dual band BE6500)
5Gbps plan --> ONT + HB710 (10G capable, dual 10G ports, triband BE18000)
10Gbps plan --> ONT + mostly EB810v (10G capable, dual 10G Ports, three 2.5G LAN ports, triband BE22000), some plans with HB710.

Look at M1:
3Gbps plan --> TP-Link Archer BE230 (2.5G capable, dual 2.5G ports, three 1G ports, dual band BE3600)
6Gbps plan --> TP-Link Archer BE805 (10G capable, dual 10G ports, four 1G ports, triband BE19000)
10Gbps plan --> Asus ZenWiFi BT10 two-pack (10G capable, dual 10G ports, one 1G port, triband BE18000) or single Archer BE805 [most of the users should get Asus ZenWiFi BT10 two-pack as the resale value is at about S$660 to S$700; Archer BE805 resale value is at about S$270 to S$300]

Now look at Singtel (all with XGS-PON ONR).
3Gbps plan --> Singtel AX5400 or HB611-SGST. Only HB611-SGST (2.5G capable, dual 2.5G ports, dual 1G ports, triband BE110000) is a good match for 3Gbps plan.

5Gbps plan --> Singtel AX5400 or HB611-SGST. HB611-SGST (only 2.5G capable) is not that good match for 5Gbps plan already but anyway still much better for Singtel AX5400.

10Gbps plan --> still HB611-SGST or HB810 (dual 10G ports, dual 2.5G ports, triband BE22000). Only HB810 is a good match for 10Gbps plan. HB611-SGST is really not a good match.

iPhone 16 Pro is a lousy WiFi 7 client as it does not support 320MHz channel bandwidth on 6GHz band. It does not support 4096QAM either. It is a decent WiFi 6/6E client though, so you may get about 1.4Gbps to 1.6Gbps Wireless speed at close range.

You can download the HB611-SGST user guide here.

1. Singtel 10Gbps WiFi 7 FAQ
https://www.singtel.com/content/dam/singtel/eshop/Fibre/agreements/10Gbps-FAQ-WiFi7.pdf

Only the HB810 option can have the possibility of "fully utilizing the given 8.2Gbps bandwidth". You only need one 10G wired device to saturate the bandwidth.

The HB611-SGST diagram can only utilitze up to 5.5Gbps bandwidth (1 x 2.5Gbps + 3 x 1Gbps).

2. Singtel 5Gbps FAQ:
https://www.singtel.com/content/dam/singtel/eshop/Fibre/agreements/5gbps-faq.pdf

Technically all diagrams can utilize the 5Gbps bandwidth. But the two HB611-SGST based connection scheme wil require four wired device to saturate the bandwidth (1 x 2.5Gbps + 3 x 1Gbps). HB810 based connection scheme only needs one 10G wired device to saturate the bandwidth.

Hope Singtel could buck up with the 5Gbps & 10 Gbps router offering which would really have 10Gbps WAN & LAN and more 2.5 Gbps LAN port.

Currently HB611 for 5Gbps is bad…..

1) no issues to keep using RT-AX89X. M1 staff will not help you to set up the RT-AX89X though. They will only set up the Archer BE805 router or two Asus ZenWiFi BT10 (if you choose to top us S$12 per month) for you. But if you only want to use the RT-AX89X, you can sell the two Asus ZenWiFi BT10 and you can ask the M1 installer not to open the two BT10.

Only thing to take note is that you have to remove the SingTel VLAN profile which is only required when using SingTel ONT. You may also need to reassign the 10G RJ45 port as the WAN port.

I will suggest you factory reset the RT-AX89X and then set up internet access from scratch. Use DHCP on the 10G WAN port, use the same wireless SSID and password as before. That is about it.

2) SingTel is quite okay when you terminate the Fibre Internet, no extra charges.

3) Porting of SingTel digital voice number to M1 is possible but it can be tricky. Talk to SingTel and M1 for advice before signing-up M1.

Basically you have to debundle SingTel digital voice and then port in to M1.

It seems to me you are considering M1 6Gbps a bit too early. Maybe it is easier to do this in May 2025.

4) M1 is using ONT so no such thing as extra gateway. Your router will be the gateway. If you keep Asus RT-AX89X as the main router, then it is the gateway.
thanks so much for your advice

Haha, HB611-SGST is already much better than the Singtel AX5400 given in the S$29.55 per month 5Gbps targeted recontract offer.

If we do not look at the "hidden link offers", and just look at the Singtel website, now it is better that Singtel mostly bundles HB611-SGST with 3Gbps/5Gbps plans. Unfortunately it still bundles HB611-SGST with most of the 10Gbps plans.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/broadband/fibre-broadband-plans

1. HB611-SGST (one or two units, 2.5G capable, dual 2.5G ports, dual 1G ports, triband BE11000) bundled
5Gbps (WiFi 7) + Entertainment Bundle, FREE 2 years 5Gbps Enhanced (WiFi 7) with Singtel TV, S$54.78 per month
10Gbps Mesh (WiFi 7) + Entertainment Value Bundle (two HB611), FREE 2 years 10Gbps Enhanced Mesh (WiFi 7) with Singtel TV, S$64.79 per month
10Gbps Mesh (WiFi 7) + Entertainment Bundle (HBO Pak) (two HB611), FREE 2 years 10Gbps Enhanced Mesh (WiFi 7) with Singtel TV, S$77.09 per month
3Gbps Enhanced (good match), S$42.90 per month
5Gbps Enhanced Plan, S$49.90 per month
5Gbps Enhanced Mesh (ywo HB611), S$55.70 per month
10Gbps Mesh (WiFi 7) with Lifestyle Gadget (two HB611), from S$79 per month.

2. HB810 (10G capable, dual 10G ports, dual 2.5G ports, triband BE22000) bundled
10Gbps Enhanced Plan, S$69 per month

Whether this offer is better or the S$29.55 per month Starhub 5Gbps offer (ONT + free HB710) is better will depend on the needs of individual users.

If you don't mind elaborating, what needs do each serve better?

I'm still on the fence as I see from catching up on the threads (this one and your other very useful ones) that the SH plan is highly recommended.

What attracts me to the SH 5Gbps plan:
  • Saves me $10.15/mth ($39.70 vs $29.55)
  • ONT instead of ONR
  • 5Gbps > 3 Gbps

The only thing holding me back from cancelling the ST 3Gbps Enhance plan:
  • 2 x TP Link HB611 routers, so I can place one in my bedroom to eliminate dead zones/improve WiFi strength.

Are there any other considerations I'm missing?

And if you were in my shoes, which would you pick?
