I started off with magnesium citrate too, but I read somewhere that if I remember correctly, human absorption is weak, most will be urinated out. Many users recommend to step up a bit buy magnesium glycinate. There are even more high end & ex than glycinate, but I can't afford taking it for long term, so I stict to mid-range one.
Magnesium citrate is one of the more common magnesium supplement formulations and can be purchased in stores worldwide. A small study of 14 male participants suggests that this type is among the most bioavailable forms of magnesium, meaning it's more easily absorbed in your digestive tract than other forms ( 4 ).

Choose Magnesium Citrate if you're looking to boost your overall levels of Magnesium in your body, or if you're looking for digestive regularity or cardiovascular support. Choose Magnesium Glycinate if you're having trouble sleeping, need enhanced calm and muscle relaxation, or want to support your mood.

Magnesium oxide is poorly absorbed. Less than 5%

Iherb house brand should be reliable quality but not all its formulas are value for money. Their probiotic is good and user will only need the 5 billions dose once a day.
I wasn’t making a point on value for money. I was making a point on iherb goods are definitely authentic while those on China friendly platforms like Lazada and Shopee have a NOT low chance of being counterfeit. For me I value my health and body, would never ingest anything or apply on my skin and hair anything thats suspected or confirmed to be of dubious China origin

This is confirmed. I was surprised to find that China made nmn also recently. And there is no 100% way we can know if the nmn supplement in the market has any nmn in it as no one regulate the industry.

My mistake, I believe I took magnesium chelate last time, not citrate. I didn't research on citrate, so anyone wanna buy ought to read up & see which magnesium type is suitable.

Chelate is confirmed good. The glycinate form has some good research behind it. Citrate form is well dissolved so easily absorbed also. The only issue with these two forms are the Mg content by weight is quite little.

Yes, I personally bought online items from China from Taobao, with pretty good reviews actually.
End up after receiving, confirm is fake from the packaging standard (obviously different from original and really low quality) and the product itself (texture and color is totally off and no fragrance at all).

As it was skin product, decided to throw them away. Certainly do not want to end up applying unknown and worst, harmful products on the skin!

Wow, actually started taking Mg some time ago and still do not know much about it in different form.
Is really good reading to know more from here and as a kickstart to know more about different forms and its side effects (if any) and its effectiveness!

Actually, I was in manufacturing industry before... what surprised me was how the company label the manufacturing country...

Eg. The product itself is really ordered from China, in Sg plant, they only do packaging (buy bulk from China, then come here package nice nice into small bottles or packages for consumers). They actually label it as "Made in Sg" on the packaging! Is totally misleading for sure!
See, even if they list the product "Packed in Sg", if you try to search for the manufacturing country, don't think you are able to find it on the packagaing!

This action above you described is controlled by individual countries own regulations. Amdk countries generally have regulations guarding against this treachery from cheapo manufacturers but not SG plus SG gov is in bed with CCP. So even when the label says Made in Singapore, I don’t fully trust except for very exceptional items which I know for a fact is really made in SG like Alvas yogurt

Thanks for sharing.
Used to take NOW D3 also but regardless of dosage 1000 I.u., 2000 iu or 2000 iu. I tend to have stomach pain and constipation after 2nd day. Not sure what's the reason, since then I stopped taking this brand and switched to California Gold Nutrition without any issues.
Hahaha. I have stomach pain and constipation from long ago, before I started taking supplements. My constipation is much better now since I realised how to improve my bowel function ( no, it's not fibre intake)

I’ve tried quite a few brands from iHerb over the years, and you're right, some of the packaging can feel sketchy or very generic. I usually avoid brands I’ve never heard of, even if the reviews look good, because you really can’t tell if the supplement is doing anything unless you get tested or monitor your health closely. I mostly stick with more well-known ones like NOW or Nordic Naturals, or just search for third-party testing info online before buying.

I started getting more serious about checking what works by using this health app called Menalam. It helps me track supplements and even syncs with my Apple Health, so I can actually see how certain things affect me over time.

Get those established brands like NOW, Dr Best and their house brand if you have worry.
I disagree. NOW brand for buffered vitamin c suck big time. It is super lowest quality. Lower than Iherb's California house brand. I tried both. Bought NOW because it is available in smaller size in shopee. Never again.
