Someone should do a new version of the driving meme. NCM, GAN, in front seat, then Tan Suee Chieh behind
Maybe even add Edwin Tong behind as well

My family and I stayed at Sun Xueling's ward (Punggol West SMC), and throughout her 5 years here, we never saw her coming to our area for walkabouts. She is only more active at the Sumang side of the SMC. So she is a stranger to us.

We are very glad that WP fielded their strongest team in Punggol and we will all vote for WP. PAP's argument of losing anchor ministers will damage the government is rubbish. Don't tell me none their current cohort of candidates can step up to take over minister rolls if something happens to the anchor minister?

So to say they had no contingency plans to replace leadership in the event something bad happens. This is not acceptable coming from PAP. Shouldn't they field top quality candidates who can all rise up when needed?

Seemed to be they filled many back benchers just to support the current anchor ministers.
Well said. Aljunied Grc also lost george yeo and two other ministers. Our country still went on well.

In fact I did not notice any difference.

Also this fear mongering insults our intelligence.

We hv a stable civil service with systems and policies in place for over 50 years. It wont collapse just cos a few pap ministers lost.

if u read the banker analysis, the real pple laughing to the bank are ntuc shareholders. the policy holders are the one who are at risk of cancellation due to lack of capital.......

the reason why wp abstain was not bcos they support the ntuc deal, it was bcos it was gky's job to spot this and block the deal in the first place as MAS.......

Fortunately for me, my last insurance policy with Income matured this year Feb and I got my $$$. I put in $13k and got back $21k over a period of 30 years

All of a sudden everyone forgot about our beloved Bro Ng even when he was the one who Johnny English-ed the Allianz deal … y’know the tagline …

What if all this heat on GKY now was to take all the NTUC heat away from Bro Ng? He already said that he is 3rd-gen and wanted to retire right?
more like NG is LHL's guy and GKY is LW. I don't remember LW defending NG. The party is spilt to defend these 2

That Workers' Party woman candidate might seem less serious to you, but she did groundwork through community outreach. T
I did not say that the WP woman is not serious, or seem less serious. You said it.

I said the voters, those dirty minded men...I have not forgotten how those men judged female candidates based on their looks in past GEs, who thought that GE is a Singapore Pageant. It is they who ain't serious.

That Workers' Party woman candidate might seem less serious to you, but she did groundwork through community outreach. The Workers' Party has fielded a strong team, including Harpreet Singh Nehal, who is endorsed by the former NTUC chief. So the Workers' Party might put up a serious fight in Punggol. Otherwise, why did Lee Hsien Loong and PM Lawrence Wong step in to support the Punggol PAP team? With this strong WP challenge, GKY may face a tight race, like HSK’s narrow win in 2020. The PAP clearly feels threatened

I feel at least WP shld field a current WP there, either Pritam or Slyvia with Hanpreet. Yes there is a high risk, but no risk no rewards.

Pritam is confident that the team he sent to Punggol is good enough to take it down, which in reality, is.

WP has already sent a current MP in Faisal to Tampines, so spreading its incumbent too much may not be a good idea. Next GE they can consider fielding another heavyweight in another GRC. One step at a time.

Punggol not much boomers, mostly young families. A concern is punggol is full of new citizens or FTs. Those staying there will know. Just go to the playground behind Treasure Trove condo ( the one with that haunted town house) in the evenings and see how many SG families are there.

These new citizens might vote for the PAP.
