My Singtel 1Gbps contract just ended.

Tried applied online previously for 5Gbps @ $29.90 but rejected.

Contacted them a few times through WhatsApp but also unable to offer me even the 3Gbps @ $39.90. Keep saying if I never received the promotion they can't offer me the promotion.....

Anyone know what are my available option if I want to switch camp but keep my home digital line (as my parents using)? Am I able to port my home number to other provider?

This has been asked multiple times, yes you can port Singtel Digital Voice number to M1 (free) or Starhub (S$2.14 per month). You have to decide which one to go and then work with the two ISPs to get it done.

As of now, M1 6Gbps offer with free Archer BE805 is probably the best one to go if it is available in your area. Must sign up in the M1 stores, new home offer at S$34.90 per month, switching offer (your case) is at S$35.90 per month. If you are keen, you can go to your preferred M1 store, they will be able to advice what you need to do to port in the Singtel Digital Voice number to M1. Take note the offer is only available in store, not online. And in any case, it is better to sign in store if you need to port in Digital Voice.

More about digital voice porting.

Read the first page of this thread and comes to your own decision.

If you are okay to leave Singtel, as of now, M1 6Gbps new user offer at S$35.90 per month with free Archer BE805 may be a good one. Digital voice is free for M1.

If your line is a Singtel Digital Voice Line, then it is possible to migrate to M1 (free) or Starhub (not free, S$2.14 per month). It is a bit troublesome though as you need to debundle the digital voice from the Fibre Internet. M1/Singtel will be able to advice.

If your line is an analog line, then you can keep using it even after switching to M1 or Singtel.

If you go with Singtel, then the new HB611-SGST or HB810 (more expensive) is better than the older Singtel wireless routers.

More for analog land line: not applicable in your case, but may be applicable for others.

land line can be converted to digital line and bundled with the fibre broadband as long as both are under the same account holder. If the land line account is under one of your parent and the broadband is your account, then you will either need to transfer the land line to you or your parent sign up for the new broadband under his/her account and then convert the land line to digital line.

this was what i did some years back to transfer an analogue land line over to me so i could then sign up for singtel fibre broadband and retain the same number under digital voice.

Recently recontracted to $39.90 3Gbps w/ HB611, pending installation. Was previously on 1Gbps ONT w/ Singtel AirTies router.

Out of curiosity, assuming bridging availability is not a concern, which handles routing better: ONR or HB611?

Asking because in my current ONT setup, I notice that the AirTies router hangs (no connection on ethernet + wifi) every other week and requires restarting, meanwhile I cannot remember the last time I had to restart ONT.

Mainly concerned about ethernet connection, so I'm hoping the new ONR will be more stable than my current router.

Generally no diff, as long as you don't need ancillary add-on that is simplified i.e. DDNS tightly integrated with manufacturer domain or VPN server/client. But again these are not routing specific.
Besides, you'll only get "ONR"

What about wired connection?

If wired connection also has high latency, then it is related to Singtel routing to your gaming server and you cannot do much about that.

If this is mobile gaming, then most likely it has nothing to do with the router but rather related to Singtel.

I am not into gaming, but you can probably provide more info about the games you play and see if others have the same issue or not.

It's likely Singtel's routing issue. When I was using Singtel, occasionally when connecting to SG server while playing games I will get over 200ms ping when my friends using SH on the same server still getting <20ms ping.

Accdeptable mesh solutions from Singtel:
https://www.singtel.com/personal/support/broadband/routers-ont

Singtel ONR + HB810 + HB810, expensive
Singtel ONR + HB810 + HB611-SGST
Singtel ONR + HB611-SGST + HB611-SGST

But it is probably more cost effective to use HB710 from Starhub than HB810 and HB611-SGST for Singtel 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps plan users. The only problem is that the following combination will not be supported by either Singtel or Starhub.
Singtel ONR + HB810 + HB710
Singtel ONR + HB710 + HB710
Singtel ONR + HB710 + HB611-SGST
My HB611-SGST placed in the middle of my house yet corners of the house wifi is weak. I previously used the Singtel mesh system and wondering if I should get another HB611-SGST (carousell selling) for coverage.

Side qns, what's the best lan cable to connect the one to HB611? Cause my ONR is at my main door and cat 5e and cat6 cable are within the walls so changing those seems hard...

After setting my Nokia XS-240X-A to bridge, I noticed that the speed test I got when using the Asus XT8 WEB GUI speed test is around 1200Mbps up/down only. The Nokia is connected at 2.5Gbps to the XT8 WAN port based on the WEB GUI.

Anyone who bridged the Nokia on your own got the 5Gbps speed when doing speed test?

When the installer installed the Nokia as ONR, forgot to ask him to help test the speed on the spot. :(

Yes you can get another HB611-SGST if the price is okay for you. You may want to consider HB710 as well if the price is good.

CAT5E cable is perfectly fine for 2.5Gbps, so no issues with HB611-SGST which is anyway up to 2.5Gbps only.

CAT6 cable is good for 10Gbps up to 55m, so good enough 10Gbps for typical household.

No, everything is fine from my side, staying in Jurong West area (Pioneer SMC).

When you say connection lost, are you referring to wired devices or wireless devices?

If wireless, which wireless router are you using?

You may want to contact SingTel for help as well.

Using Wireless, laptop show connected to wifi but no internet connection.

The fiber cable LED light (I think) at the ONR is also not lighted up when this happened. That LED light is lighted up when the internet connection is ok.

Got try power off and on the ONR.

Think need to talk to SingTel.

your link to the 4th promo is wrong.

Anyway, the 4th promo at $55.70 was what Singtel offered me in their previous direct mailer but at $58.70.

As of now, the $38.90 plan seems to be most value for me due to the bundling of voice and 12 months disney+. Shall wait to see if there's any other good offers at the upcoming CEE before deciding to renew or jump ship
