Interview with banking industry specialist Christopher Whalen:

TLDR:
Recession? Not at all, especially NO CONSUMER RECESSION. Hence NO RATE CUTS for the entire year.
Yet inflation will continue (low 2%, not hyperinflation) and dollar continues to lose its value (to inflate the govt debt away).

My takeaway (not necessarily my stand): you can't bet on a market crash by staying in all cash (because your dollar loses its value), yet you can't bet on a strong bull market because Fed refuses to cut rates hence causing mortgage rates to stay high (housing is still the biggest economic driver).

SPY/QQQ still slightly down YTD

BTC 9%+ YTD

10y yield 4.4%+

USD/SGD was ~1.37 beginning of the year
today ~1.3 (-5%)

S&P is one of the worst performing market YTD after adjusting for dollar weakness, Europe is the best performing market so far.

Adam Khoo's baby, UNH finally bounced. Sell-off is over.
XLV etf finished its bear trap and is up for two days in a row. UNH is 5.3% of XLV.

Adam Khoo has been alerting the public about the potential rotation into XLV etf, and it may be starting now.
NVO taking in huge volume in the past few weeks and holding above its recent low. CEO changed, but news did not cause any massive sell down.
Cross-checking NVO with LLY: hovering near support after backfilling an earlier price gap-up.

Is Trump's MFN policy for drugs is fully discounted into Pharma stocks? I don't know. It was announced just recently on May 12, 2025. Who knows if Trump admin will release more bombs into this sector.

Adam Khoo below is talking about sector rotation as one of the major reason for buying healthcare sector.

XLV (SP500 Healthcare sector ETF)
IHI (Biomedical devices ETF)
UNH (Adam's public stock pick)
The hot stocks on Twitter currently are HIMS, TMDX, weightloss (LLY, NVO).
On my own watchlist is MDWD (takeover candidate).
I have no positions above.

HIMS considered healthcare? It has been powering up since more than a few days ago.

Buffet said USD gg to Hell and advise us to diversify into other currencies but then imo all fiat currencies going down to toilet also leh :s13:
Not sure what is he saying also. He said USD going to hell then buy up so much Treasuries?

Don't make sense. And I suspect that the day-to-day operations at Berkshire is no longer him for years.
