Yes it's called a CT Angiogram test. They inject a dye into you then you go into the CT Scanner, it lights up under the scan and it can show blockages anywhere in your arteries. It sounds scary but it's just another injection, not that painfuli started statins 4 months ago due to borderline high LDL. But I also don't wish to take meds after watching Barbara O Neil videos. But you mention got way to test if heart arteries are blocked? Got such technology?
Yes, the wonders of medical science are at your full disposal, don't waste it. Nothing wrong with taking statins. The invention of statins and other LDL blockers/inhibitors have saved millions of lives.Ya since need to eat meds liao might as well. Why waste the effort.![]()
got a mild stroke during this CNY. stay hospital 1 week. sianzYa only CT scan or MRI can really pick up blockages.
yikes, that sounds like a transient ischemic attack, which is basically a stroke.got a mild stroke during this CNY. stay hospital 1 week. sianz
suddenly feel numb on right side, dizziness, go A&E CNY eve, bp 186. doc ask me to smile, say my right lips and eye dropping, ask me to go for CT scan, pick up nothing, ask me stay put so he can arrange for MRI,

Another non-invasive test will be the Calcium Score Test which scans for calcium deposits in the arteries. Usually if there are calcium deposits, there is blockage. BUT this test isn't 100%, some blockage may not have calcium deposits. So CT angiogram is best.
Yea I'm generally ok with my current medication. So continue eating.Yes it's called a CT Angiogram test. Some folks here afraid of the side effects of statins which is muscle ache, if they're concerned, can take PCSK-9 inhibitors or ezetimibe, tons of alternatives.
Sadly they're all more or less priced the same. The longer and slower route via Poly GP > Public Hosp Specialist > Scan Appt > Consult is always the cheapest but still relatively pricey. I think just bite the bullet and scan bah, for peace of mind. Esp. if you think you're at risk (chronic high LDL etc.)Much appreciated for this advice. Wanted to go for CT Angiogram test for some time. Any recommendations on the place to go and the estimated cost.
I remembered i previously checked and was put off by the high cost.
My friend couldn't walk straight and admitted hospital. Detected brain got mild blockage but now ok liao. Eat aspirin.got a mild stroke during this CNY. stay hospital 1 week. sianz

doc says not TIA, TIA can make a full recovery, me is minor stroke, juz small vessal brustyikes, that sounds like a transient ischemic attack, which is basically a stroke.
when you said kaput, means full blockage? Are those minor veins or actual arteries?
Actually can one time pain pay money to scan. Especially after 40s. Don't need to scan frequently one, cos the blockage takes time to build up. Maybe scan about once every 5 years. Those who 'converted' to healthier lifestyle and food, I feel are the most at risk. Because they have this mistaken thought that having a healthier lifestyle will result in 'cleansing' of the bad stuff and make up for the unhealthy lifestyle they had in the past, so they skip checkups and medication. Blockage cannot be reversed one, it will build up and won't go away. So best to have a one time scan.Much appreciated for this advice. Wanted to go for CT Angiogram test for some time. Oh sh1t that's my worst fear, vessel bursting.... aneurysms.... no warning signs, just boom.doc says not TIA, TIA can make a full recovery, me is minor stroke, juz small vessal brust
"A lacunar infarct is seen in the left corona radiata, with possibly focal area of small vessel disease in the left thalamus."

Raffles Hospital (pte route), from GP to Cardio to CAC (Calcium score test, NOT CT Angiogram), was abt SGD 800. CT Angio gonna be more, that was abt a year ago
Yeah it's still around that price for private, and it's alot faster esp. if you go to cardio specialist clinics. I'd pay up if I were you since it's years (or even decades) of high LDL. Sometimes hyperlipidemia is genetic and not related to food, so pharmaceutical interventions (like TS' statins) might be the only way forward to reducing it.Much appreciated. I remembered when I checked 2 years ago, got CT Angiogram test, it's around 1.5-2k for private.
Was put off by the cost. Maybe I have to reconsider since my LDL is always very high. Used to be worse 10 years ago but now slightly better after I watched my food intake. Still higher than normal though. And this reminds me to do my annual check again for 2025.
