Any other references to what's borderline? because I don't understand the results
LDL is higher than optimal. Previously its above 5 mmol/L for many years until I got it down to around 3 mmol/L with diet. Now it's up to 3.5 since I slack on my diet.
AI is excellent to interpret health data. Here is what I copy and paste with my readings.
Your Lipid Panel
Lipid Type Your Value (mmol/L) Ideal Range (General Guidelines) Comment
LDL (bad) 3.57 < 3.4 (optimal), 3.4–4.1 (borderline)
HDL (good) 1.77 > 1.0 (men), > 1.3 (women)
Triglycerides 0.67 < 1.7
Total Cholesterol 5.64 < 5.2 (ideal), 5.2–6.2 (borderline)
---
LDL 3.57 mmol/L
This is slightly above optimal but not alarmingly high.
If you have no risk factors (like smoking, diabetes, hypertension, family history), this may be acceptable.
If you do have risks, aim for LDL < 2.6 or even < 1.8 (for high-risk patients).
