Any other references to what's borderline? because I don't understand the results

LDL is higher than optimal. Previously its above 5 mmol/L for many years until I got it down to around 3 mmol/L with diet. Now it's up to 3.5 since I slack on my diet.

AI is excellent to interpret health data. Here is what I copy and paste with my readings.

Your Lipid Panel

Lipid Type Your Value (mmol/L) Ideal Range (General Guidelines) Comment

LDL (bad) 3.57 < 3.4 (optimal), 3.4–4.1 (borderline) ⚠️ Borderline high
HDL (good) 1.77 > 1.0 (men), > 1.3 (women) ✅ Very good
Triglycerides 0.67 < 1.7 ✅ Excellent
Total Cholesterol 5.64 < 5.2 (ideal), 5.2–6.2 (borderline) ⚠️ Borderline high

---

🩺 Interpretation

LDL 3.57 mmol/L

This is slightly above optimal but not alarmingly high.

If you have no risk factors (like smoking, diabetes, hypertension, family history), this may be acceptable.

If you do have risks, aim for LDL < 2.6 or even < 1.8 (for high-risk patients).

Oh ya I could have used ChatGPT to convert the readings, never thought of that, thanks

Particle size, pattern a or b and, most critically, oxidized cholesterol and Lp(a) are what truly matter.

LDL alone means nothing.

Did Apo B and Apo A1 too. Looks normal.

But a lower LDL is always welcome.

NMR LipoProfile (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance LipoProfile) is a widely recognized test that directly measures the number and size of lipoprotein particles, including LDL, HDL, and VLDL. It provides a detailed breakdown of LDL particle subclasses, allowing for the identification of predominant pattern A or B

Angiogram need to insert the thingy into artery via wrist or groin area. Invasive procedure. No emergency case or high risk factors, where got chin chai go n do one.

Also for heart patient with blocked arteries, the LDL should be below 1
