Worth opening a multiplier account right now?

The money is parked with UOB One account now, whose interest rate is going to be cut again since 1 Sept.
If you can unlock 4.1% for multiplier, it’s a no brainer. I have both maxed out anyway, so no need to choose. 😅

thank you all. actually why I asked this question is I am wondering if DBS would cut interest rates soon or not. :)

Should account for all the hoops on mortgage interest rate, insurance premiums and fees paid for investment, does attaining 4.1% on huge surplus cash worth it or not?

very difficult to unlock 4.1% every month
Not exactly eh.

1. You purposely choose DBS mortgage cause of multiplier meh? If not should just treat that as a “bonus” for unlocking one ccategory.

2. for insurance what are you buying?

3. for investment fees very high meh?

the question you are asking about worth it or not doesn’t make sense. What’s considered worth it to you? So long positive return is worth it? Where’s the bar?

at least do some homework la.

You can stay with UOB if you think DBS might cut rates, but that’s basically just speculation. You’re stuck or clung with 2.5% “just in case”! That’s not foresight - that’s financial self-sabotage dressed up as wisdom!

“Surge in demand = banks cut rates”?” Please. That’s like saying hawker queues cause food prices to drop.

Come back when you’re ready to talk facts, not fortune cookies!

For DBS , i just tried subscribed 1k to a short term duration bond fund with srs , fee is 0.5%. i suppose minumum can be $1 or $100

On Day4 , the transaction is seen , and registered as a invest multiplier category.

Now Day9 , the fund is still yet seen in my fund portfolio (available for redemption).

Seems long lead time for DBS. On moomoo, all is subscribed and completed on Day3 for the same fund with zero platform fees

Be smart, if you intend to redeem immediately, use cash, dun complicate matters for yourself!
