Updates after installing the Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Fibre

Managed to the bridge the F8648P but faced a surprising obstacle. It turns out that after bridging, I didn't need to do the set the VLAN 10 that Singtel is well known for. I set up my Internet in UniFi for VLAN 10, but could not get connected. I removed the VLAN tag and Internet was achieved.

I got an IPV4 and an IPV6 address when the UCG connected. What a pleasant surprise!

Running a speed test on the UniFi dashboard showed me a very healthy 5Gbps Up/Down even with IDS turned on.

Any recontract offer recently from Singtel?

Recent best recintract offer from SingTel seems to be 3Gbps with two HB611-SGST at S$39.90 per month.

No hidden link as far as I know. You have to negotiate with SingTel if you have not received the offer directly from SingTel (eg: SMS or Email).

Recent post:
I am upgrading from Singtel 1gbps to 3GBPS for my in laws place. Got offered ONR + 2x HB611 for 39.90 via their WhatsApp.

This is better than new user 3Gbps SG60 offer at the same S$39.90 per month pricing but with only single HB611-SGST.

https://www.singtel.com/personal/pr...edium=link&utm_campaign=fibre-sg60-3gbps-plan

3Gbps Enhanced (WiFi 7) Plan at $39.90/mth (U.P. $55.90/mth)

Comes with XGS-PON Optical Network Router + 1 unit of Singtel WiFi 7 (TP-Link BE11000)

Looking to improve your WiFi coverage?
Add another unit of Singtel WiFi 7 Router (TP-Link BE11000) at 40% OFF (U.P. $18/mth).

have! you can see from here www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/broadband/eform/2yrbb-10gbps-W6-ent-bundle?utm_source=promo-page&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=28aug25-comex-onsite

they giving free ntuc shopping voucher as well if you sign up. 2 free years of 10gbps and get singtel tv at the same time, good deal leh.

if you are looking for just standalone speed plans, you can see their 5Gbps mesh plan offer (www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/broadband/eform/fibre-5gbps?utm_source=promo-page&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=28aug25-comex-onsite)

As far as I know, SingTel never got good offers for Fibre Broadband in IT shows in recent years (say after year 2020), especially for Fibre Broadband only services without SingTel TV bundle.

A few users have got the above mentioned 3Gbps recontract offer at S$39.90 per month with two HB610-SGST seems to be much better than the Comex 5Gbps offer. But you have to negotiate with SingTel to get the recontract offer.

The 2 Wifi 7 HB611 mesh router is it instant redeem on the spot or need to go down Orchard Central to redeem?
Btw is HB611 coverage good for a typical a 5rm flat?
Thanks.

For those who took on the 5 or 10gbps plans during Comex, did your contract state anything about the Vouchers and add ons like HBO max etc..? mine does not.

Just recontracted for Singtel 3Gbps a few weeks ago, and was provided a pair of mesh WiFi 7 routers (TP-Link HB611). Though I decided to switchback to my previous setup (a pair of Asus ROG GT6).

On the unfortunate side, as I'm not able to bridge my XGS-PON, owing to the fact that I have a Singtel TV (changed to Android TV box) that's connected to it. Tried bridging the ONR and despite getting internet access, I lose my TV access due to the complexities involved.

So now my home network now runs on a double NAT configuration, which I kind of dislike since it adds to the latency and sometimes network slowdowns...was thinking if I should reconfigure my mesh routers to AP mode only to mitigate this double NAT situation.

When you bridge the ONR, SingTel TV must be connected to the unbridged port.

If you need the FW features of the Asus and not encountering other issues, you can keep Double NAT.

If you encounter issues with the current Double NAT setup, then you may want to change to AP mode.

I have a Asus ZenWifi mesh AD6S wifi 6 router from M1. Is that still good or should I topup a little more to get the SingTel plan that comes with 2 units of wifi 7 TP link mesh BE11000? plan I am getting is 3gbps so not sure if the wifi 7 router can even fully utilise the speed.

Also have never used TP link routers or network equipment before so wondering if they are reliable haha

Deeply appreciate your advice, I have tried connecting the Singtel TV to the unbridged port, but error code 150 appears on the bridged ONR. Hence, I had to unbridge the entire ONR to enable IPTV services - either way the Android TV box is rather sensitive with access.

Since I had no further issues for now, I presume it's still safe to maintain double NAT for the time being. Perhaps I might try AP mode to mitigate this in the coming weekends, at least with a backup of the router configuration first.

Did you reset the Singtel ONR before bridging? That may cause problem with Singtel TV and Singtel Digital Voice.

If that is the case, unbriged first to get Sintgel TV and Singtel Digital Voice to work first.

After that, try bridging again to see how it goes.

When will your contract expire?

Usually they will not give good offer if you still have quite some time with your current contract.

I am paying S$49.90 per month for my Singtel 5Gbps plan (with ONR plus a free useless Singtel AX5400 router), recontract in August 2024 and no good offer at that time...
