The SingTel tech came to install the new ONR and upgrade my 3Gbps plan this morning. Initially I I wish to continue to use my old Asus routers (AX56U and AX58U) unfortunately, it doesn't work no matter how I tried. End up just use their "free" TP link router. The set up was pretty easy, just make sure the cables are connected properly and boot on, the download the TP-Link app to some basic configs then go to go.

My plan is 3Gbps, XGS-PON Optical Network Router + 2 units of Singtel WiFi 7 (TP-Link BE11000) at $39.70/month.

For your Asus, usually you may want to carry out factory reset and then set it up again. You may have to use AP mode in order to avoid Double NAT and to make Asus AImesh Ethernet Backhaul to work.

If you were using ONT, usually your Asus router will have Singtel VLAN profile enabled, that may well be the issue for you. You have to disable Singtel VLAN profile.

On the other hand, it makes sense to use the two HB611-SGST if you want to get faster wired and WiFi speed, as HB611-SGST has 2.5G WAN port and 2.5G LAN port, as well as triband WiFi 7 BE11000.

I did both but still doesn't work (with SingTel profile too). SingTel VLAN profile under ONR settings?

No, disable Singtel VLAN profile in your Asus. Nothing to do with the ONR.

But it is better to carry out factory reset and then set it up in AP mode again. That is usually the way to go.

I just re-contracted my broadband to the 3gbps plan. My current setup is ONR with TP-Link HB611-SGST.

After changing, my wifi keep having connection issue intermittently. I also unable to access TP-link router via web browser. Anyone also having the same issue?

What are the devices which are having issues?

What is your old setup before the recontract?

As for the Web GUI, you need to get the IP address of the HB611-SGST (usually configured in AP mode by SingTel, 192.168.1.x) from the SingTel ONR (192.168.1.254).

Now I am thinking if I should invest on a 10G switch and an USB C ethernet adapter×so that I can enjoy full 5gpbs on my computer and also future proofing. But For one it's expensive, For another I very lazy to pull another RJ45 into my room also.

Current setup:
1) ZTE ONR in the living Room <10G - 2.5G> HB611 in my room <2.5G-2.5G>Motherboard
2) ZTE ONR in the living Room <1G - 2.5G> HB611 in my living room.
3) ZTE ONR in the living Room <1G - 1G> Singtel TV setup box

Can. But if I am going to spend the effort I might as well make sure I get Full 5gbe wired and both my wireless will be at 2.5gbe

IIRC you need to be around thats why I was pushing them abit. Because my work anything less then 7 days considered urgent leave... By right they suppose to get back to me in 3 biz days... But 5 days in I don't hear from them. Oddly after I called them, the confirmation came later in the evening 😂🤣

Actually anyone can sign since no verification done. Of cos if there’s issues later on you can’t blame the field engineer if your family member didn’t check properly before signing

Hi guys,

How do I change the network name and password (and other settings) for the HB611?

I’ve downloaded the TP Link Tether app but it keeps telling me error. Is that the wrong app to use?
