I believe this buy over is also to reduce number of competitors in the market so they can start to adjust higher price to earn more.

Anyway, the moment MyRepublic behave like Starhub, i will leave them immediately.
Possibly since market is saturated, so consolidate and push prices up gradually.

i recently switched from Starhub to Myrepublic and my xiaomi home is not able to sync anymore (unable to see cloud and no notifications). What could be the issue?

Not into smart home stuff but my guess is this is because of CGNAT (no public IPv4 address).

Have you got the static IPv4 add-on at one time charge of S$51?

No static ip subscribed, how does it help? previously my starhub also does not have static ip...

Starhub has public IPv4, dynamic Public IPv4. SingTel, M1 and Whizcomm also use dynamic Public IPv4.

VQ/MR use CGNAT, both provide Static IPv4 add-on.

But you better check with other Xiaomi users to confirm the issue.

Edit to add: newer generation of Smart Home devices usually work with CGNAT by using a server on the cloud. So I am not exactly sure why you have the issue. That is why I say better to check with others.

5.5+5.5=11Gbps:eek:

Actually none of the consumer routers I know of can do this if you want to use Dual WAN to combine the bandwidth. They at most have two 10Gbe ports and a few 2.5G ports.

1) Top of the line Asus ROG GT BE98 may be able to do the following.

5Gbps + 5Gbps --> 2.5Gbps x 4

2) Not so sure if Asus RT-BE88U can do a bit better

5.5Gbps + 5.5Gbps --> 2.5Gbps x 4 + 1Gbps

Recevied a recontract offer for Myrepublic. Im currently on 1 gbps

a) 1gbps @ $34.99 / month for 24 months
Overall = $839.76 for 2 years

b) OR

3gbps @ $30.99 / month for 24 months
+ $50 topup for TP-Link BE230
+ $29.90 topup for installation
Overall $823.66 for 2 years

Qns
1. Makes sense to go with 3gbps right? lol cheaper.
2. Hows BE230?
3. Im currently using old TP Link EX510, can i use it as repeater to cover some parts of house?

Thanks!

Yes, definitely make sense to "upgrade" your bandwidth since it's cheaper.
Don't use BE230, so cannot advise.
Seems like both on EasyMesh so might be compatible, but best to check with TP-Link first. TP-Link's EasyMesh isn't as straightforward as say ASUS's Mesh system.
TP-Link BE230
TP-Link EX510
