What if in restaurant settings?

Order food for helper, or just let her choose what she wants?

Possible to limit the price range of what she chooses?

If helper taobao her own food from coffeeshop/ hawker centre, reaonsable to give her $5 for to choose what she wants to eat and drink?

Is this a good practice? Any risk that she keeps the money and not eat?
Is up to employer.

Saw helpers given KFC or other fast food to eat first, not as paying restaurant diners like the restaurant servers (eat first before work)
Anyway, for taking elderly/childcare, when siblings came during CNY, she collected quite a few Ang Pows. If she willing to remain after her 2 year contract, should give her increased salary for renewal and her plane ticket value for not returning back her home. Many have poor families back home, owed agent loans when first came here. Usually came from villages last time, some are divorcees with children back home.

Have anyone come across situations where the elderly folks do not like the maid’s cooking?

End up, elderly folks eat out while the maid either eat out together or cook for herself at home?

so the maid only take care of elderly and do basic household chores.

What I know is that gov also had made it easier for elderlies or ppl who need to employ FDW. Last time was quite troublesome and restrictive

You are wrong.

MOM will not give approval for elderly to employ FDW, they make it very difficult for you to appeal again and again and finally still not approved. This is my own experience.

helper is the way to go if cost is an issue… but you’ll need to get one willing to take care of old folks.

now have to terminate my mother's caregiver WP liao, my aunty will be taking over the caregiver.
MOM will send you a letter 2 weeks later and give you 4 weeks to either transfer or terminate the employment. In all, about 6 weeks.

helper definitely cheaper than nursing home by alot. Nursing home daily consumables adds up alot as they will suka suka keep replenishing like it's free :o
and all the attending dr fees, scans, tests etc etc

Read HWZ Forum Rules!
When my dad was around, both of his legs were amputated, I had no choice but to leave him in the nursing home in JB as there isn't any subsidy for foreigners here since he was a JHK
Some more my mum has no strength to lift him up if they were to stay together in her 2r flat

I couldn't accommodate a helper too since I only have a spare bedroom
Come to think of it, I shouldn't have convinced my mum to sell her 4r flat

Average expenses for the nursing home SGD800, included consumables (and my take home pay so low at $3k)
Paid RM100 more than the other old folks because dad needed 2 staffs to lift him up instead of one when he was left with one leg

My mum and I took霸王车,just one trip of an hour commute cost SGD80, two trips SGD160 hence that was why we only visited him once every 4 to 6 weeks
Because we dislike taking bus in due to hot weather and long waiting time too
Yes,we are charsiews but at least I never boh hiew my dad, my mum also never gave up on him
The only regret is, I never watched his diet
