U mean no children cannot employ helper if dementia?
Who's going to help employ helper when already dementia? Who going to take charge of the finance.. etc if your partner already gone? Or for those single?

Siblings, nephews, cousins?
Abit far-fetched.. most of the time they already got their own family.. unless u are very close to them or stay together.. else one year meet once kind during cny etc.. when something happens to you I doubt they will know too 😂 when they realize probably already too late.. unless you can predict that something going to happen to you beforehand and handover your finances first??

Also many of my cousins not married or no kids too..

My helper’s contract ending in a few months time

though I feel she has many areas for improvement, eg being very slow in doing things, bad cook (always cooking same food and cooking unhealthy food)

I feel overall she is still responsible and honest la

im worried if I change helper, I might get a worse one.

hence I will just let her know her areas to change and pray pray hope she will change.

Dude.. cannot be held hostage by an employee.

If I were in your position, would simply keep my cards close to my chest, and search for alternatives.

If LLPL, then renew. Otherwise, I will bet on the 50% possibility that the new one will be better.

helper must find those sexperienced in taking care of old ppl de :(

Joke aside....
TS U may check with social worker whether any subsidy or government assistance U could apply. Come to worst if can't get any subsidy, rent out a room in Ur parents' house to cover some cost for Ur dad. I would prefer nursing home as U need to work and having a helper may not be medically trained or experience to handle him. If U have siblings , do ask them to share some cost. Ur house is not an idea place for stroke patient as getting off bed or going to toilet or bathing U need lots of proper equipments & tools. My late grandparents bedridden , and so many changes in house.

Usually helper can't get along with old folks. Moreover ur dad has a stroke. Immobility mean tempet would not be so good too. Also stress for helper. And she would not work long n may give U some problems too

It’s not difficult. I have 2 FDWs both employed under my Dad’s name. I am the sponsor. You need to submit your income doc stating you have annual income of more than $40K. Also make sure the employer is not dementia stricken.

Both FDWs must stay at the employer’s residence.
show them the rental income and cpf income total more than $5K per month and cash saving more than $80K and employer only Parkinson not dementia, still cannot get approved.

We submitted our payslip or income tax to the maid agency (can't quite remember) and they made my husband the sponsor so that we we could employ one for MIL. Fast and easy.
Yes, unless got sponsor otherwise cannot get approved.
