When will your contract expire?

Usually they will not give good offer if you still have quite some time with your current contract.

I am paying S$49.90 per month for my Singtel 5Gbps plan (with ONR plus a free useless Singtel AX5400 router), recontract in August 2024 and no good offer at that time...
September 2025,exact date is 21th September.
Full 2 years is Nov 2025

Did you reset the Singtel ONR before bridging? That may cause problem with Singtel TV and Singtel Digital Voice.

If that is the case, unbriged first to get Sintgel TV and Singtel Digital Voice to work first.

After that, try bridging again to see how it goes.

Reference: please go to the following thread.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...te-f8648p-superadmin-password.6946718/page-22
Yep previously tried. But it seems the same issue when bridging.
-------------------
I'm currently using the ZTE F8648P ONR, with my pair of ROG Rapture GT6 mesh. (I ditched the Singtel-provided WiFi 7 routers). And on top of that, the new Singtel TV Android box (it's super tiny!) which was near-impossible to bridge on the ZTE for my case.

And some good news to share, I've finally managed to bridge the ONR and get IPTV at the same time.
Using the reference provided in your post, I did the following steps:

1) Reset ONR, wait for connection profile to be loaded and Power, PON, IPTV, Internet, 10G LAN (LAN5) lights solid green
2) Set LAN5 to bridge, leave it as it is thereafter - no further changes on ONR
3) Configure own router to get connection, no VLAN profiles on all ports
4) Hard Reboot the following sequence (power down -> wait 30 seconds -> power up): ONR -> router main -> router mesh (if any)
5) Connect Singtel Android TV to LAN2 port of the ONR, wait for IPTV and LAN2 light to go up
6) Reboot Android TV to reload network connection
7) Reboot router one last time to refresh connectivity

End result: Bridged ONR to own router + IPTV (new Android TV box) via ONR

Refer this diagram for BTO up to 3 wired mesh setup.(Diagram above is for 5 rooms BTO with 2.5gbps speed setup)

You can imagine BE25 is your Wireless RT/AP mesh unit.

You need 1x network switch if is 3x wired mesh setup.

2x wired mesh setup no need network switch.

Its wireless, for 3gbps which is better singtel or starhub?

I think the issue is more of that your friend is using a wireless mesh in a BTO that should have wired ports in each room.

I'm assuming your friend has put his ONR/ONT in the service cabinet, then connected a single wire to the internal unit's networking DB, put the main mesh unit in the living room, and the remote mesh unit in his bedroom.

Your friend can consider either:

  1. Put the main unit in the DB, connect the wire to one of the bedroom ports, and hook up the second unit in the corresponding bedroom; or
  2. Buy a cheap 2.5Gbps switch that can take all the ports in the service cabinet, connect one port to the ONT/ONR and the other units wired into the preferred ports in each room

Like some of the other folks have mentioned, BTOs should have ethernet ports in each room. It does not make much sense to utilise a wireless mesh solution given the avaiability of wired ports in each room.

the latest recontract I am offered is as below:

5GB
Mesh (Wifi 7) 2x HB611 @ $49.70/mthly - 24 mths ct (U.P. $88.90) (+$120 Fairprice Voucher)

3GB
Mesh (Wifi 7) 2x HB611 @$39.70/mthly - 24 mths ct (U.P. $55.90)(+$120 Fairprice Voucher)

@xiaofan Boss. Both seems like quite a good offer for recontract?

The 3Gbps one is the prevailing good recontract offer now, reported by a few users.

The 5Gbps recontract offer is not worth it.

they give hb611 for 5gbps plan a bit nonsense sia.. even 3gbps plan already limited by the 2.5gbe port of the hb611 :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Currently 1gbps service. Got the following horrible offer over email for recontract -

5Gbps (WiFi 7) Mesh Plan at $55.70/mth (U.P. $88.90/mth)
Comes with 2 x Singtel WiFi 7 Mesh Routers (TP-Link BE11000)

No voucher and more expensive monthly cost.

That why I am waiting for my Singtel contract ends next year , will jump ship to other services providers where they still continuing using ONT with higher speeds and reasonable price.

Same. Looking forward to being able to terminate and shift cause:
- ont vs onr
- cheaper
- better router offering
- I've noticed high latency when gaming with Singtel and understand local peering of other ISPs might improve this

Indeed you may receive such bad offers from SingTel. Just ignore it. They may send you better offers near to your contract expire date -- usually using SMS.

The above are all good reasons to leave SingTel.

I do not recommend new users to go with SingTel mainly because of the above reasons too. I tend to recommend typical users to go with M1 or Starhub. Power users can also consider VQ/MR.

On the other hand, many existing SingTel users may not have problems with ONR (some users may actually prefer ONR as they can put it inside DB Box and save one router). In that case, I will tend to recommend they negotiate with SingTel to get a good deal first before considering other ISPs. For example, the current recontract offer of 3Gbps plus two HB611-SGST mesh is an okay offer.

BTW, for users who do not like the SingTel XGS-PON ONR, the ZTE F8648 ONR and Nokia XS-240X-A ONR can be bridged. Once bridged, they perform like an ONT. Your Singtel TV box can still work -- just need to connect to the unbridged port. SingTel digital voice will still work as well.

1) Manual Bridging method: proceed with your own risk, not recommended for average users.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...admin-password.6946718/page-12#post-154283589

2) You can also pay SingTel S$10 per month to have the official bridging by SingTel. I think you should avoid SingTel in the first place before considering this way.

I renewed my 1 gbps plan to 3 gbps enhanced plan. Installed on 10 Sept 2025 and activated on the same day. NLT activated the second fiber pot on 8 Sept 2025.

I went to Jurong Point Singtel shop and requested to renew my Fiber BB, TV and mobile services. All three had expired.

Their retention staff attended to me. Requested for bridge mode, and the $10 fees was waived for 24 months.
After 24 months I got to try my luck to get it bridged when I renew again.

The technician who came to my home with the Nokia ONR said he is doing bridged mode for the first time and there he had some problems doing it. He then changed another Nokia ONR, and succeeded after some time. He had more problems with the Singtel TV Android Box.

Success after about nearly two hours.

Nice one. Thanks for the detailed information.

You are probably the 3rd or 4th person who got the bridging fee waiver from SingTel in this forum.

We have to request for bridge mode, if not they will just give the normal ONR. Just talk to them nicely and request for it to be added in the contract. Give any reason if asked for.

Later when Singtel staff comes to your home, you have to remind him/her that you got the bridge mode in the contract. If not, they will take the easy way and do the normal installation. The bridge mode installation needs extra steps for them and I believe not all of the are experienced in the steps required.

The staff who came to my house said he had never done it before, and refered back to to his senior officer for instructions on every step.
