I can also see some download speed drop for my Singtel 5Gbps plan. It used to be about 5.5 Gbps to 5.6Gbps.

Now it is about 5.1Gbps to 5.3Gbps, still above what Singtel publishes though.

On the other hand, this should not be a real issue. It may show that Singtel has more customers moving up to the 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps plans so that the download speed may drop.

Starhub seems to maintian the speed published.
https://www.starhub.com/personal/broadband/typical-broadband-speed-plans.html

Typical Speed Range by Broadband Plan

Broadband PlanTypical Download Speeds (Local)Best For
1Gbps974 Mbps – 982 MbpsBest Broadband for Casual HD Streaming
3Gbps2868 Mbps - 2882 MbpsPerfect for moderate to heavy internet users, ideal for HD streaming, gaming, and multi-device usage
5Gbps4779 Mbps - 4833 MbpsExcellent for high-speed data transfers and seamless multi-tasking across multiple devices.
10Gbps8144 Mbps – 8171 MbpsDesigned for power users demanding ultra-fast connectivity for professional tasks, 4K streaming, and smart home systems.
NOTE:
  • Results are based on multiple PCs experiencing download concurrently.
  • The Typical Speed Range is computed to reflect that at least 80% of the time, a customer should experience the lower bound speed or higher. Measurement are based on peak and non peak periods (peak period s are from 6pm to 2am, weekdays and 11am to 2am), weekends. Modems used in the speed measurement are via direct wired LAN connections to Fibre Optical Network Terminals (fibre broadband). Wireless routers are not used in the testing. Data is accurate and updated as of July 2025.
  • Please note that results from 3rd party speed test servers may differ greatly. StarHub is not able to control the quality of connection beyond its own network. StarHub has no visibility over their configuration and limitation of any 3rd party speedtest server and their networks quality that may produce different/varying results. Learn how to perform a speedtest.
  • ^For 2Gbps Fibre Broadband, typical speed for individual connection will follow typical speed range of 1Gbps service.

M1 is lumping local speed vs international speed. So the data may not be exactly comparable.

The 404 error is a known thing and you can ignore it. Your order submission is okay.

Now you have to wait for the reply from SingTel to see whether they accept your order or not.

There are both successful reports and unsuccessful reports in this forum.
<Singtel> Dear Customer, we regret to inform you that we are unable to proceed with your online application to recontract your fibre service due to not eligible for the promotion. Please contact 1688 for more info. Thank you for your interest.

You can try to contact 1688 and ask to transfer to retention team to see if they can give you good offer or not.

If not happy with the recontract offer, you can always check out M1/Starhub for better offers.

Thank you for waiting. As per checking, your account is currently under our 10Gbps plan, with the contract set to end on 02 February 2026.

Apologies, but a downgrade request can only be raised after the contract end date. If we were to raise the order at this moment while the contract is still active, it would result in an early termination charge totaling $139.00.

Singtel WhatsApp above so I guess got to wait on 31st Jan to try again.

Mine 10Gbps can recontract from Nov 2025.
Yesterday someone from Singtel called me to inform the contract ending soon and will revert back to $100 plus.

I told her I will recontract with the 5Gbps at $29.90 offered and available online which said no such offer and only have $59.90 offering as for now.

Today my internet is down and after reset both ONR (Bridged) and Asus Router, my internet is capped at 100Mbps

No wonder my internet is crippled now

Guess they force new firmware on my previously bridged ONR :

My router is still in Router mode so the ONR is still in bridged mode but capped at 100Mbps

maybe can try physically reconnect your lan cables?

or enter your onr and asus router management page to see the link connection
Thank you and now it is back to normal by unplugging and cleaning those ports and plugged it back in.

The following is an advertisement for Singtel, but kind of worth reading.
https://www.asiaone.com/digital/singtel-broadband-network

1) Singtel Internet Exchange (STiX)

Other ISPs (not including WC) use Singapore Internet Exchange (SGIX).

Many power users will complain about the routing performance of Singtel to some websites. The above is part of the reason. On the other hand, SIngtel may have some advantages for some other websites.

2) TR-369 -- security minded users may be very afraid of the following. For average users who want to use ISP provided the main wired router (Singtel XGS-PON ONR) and wireless gears (Singtel HB611-SGST and HB810 now), this may be a good thing.

"Singtel is the first provider in the world to implement the TR-369 standard for smarter broadband management. Singtel technicians can now communicate with routers and fibre terminals in real time to identify and resolve common network issues, even without being physically present. For users calling in for technical support, this also means fewer tedious troubleshooting steps over the phone, such as running speed tests."

3) Security: Singtel BroadBand Protect and CLS Level 4 certification for the Singtel HB611-SGST and HB810.

Take note Singtel Broadband Protect is not complete free. Some plans may come with 12 months free but after that you need to pay.

HB611-SGST and HB810 have CLS Level 4 certification. But they may be lack of firmware features like Wireguard VPN server and client. And Singtel will configure them in AP mode, so many firmware features may not be available anyway.

4) Smarter broadband including EcoWiFi.

Interestingly it seems that I cannot access stuff.tv website, no matter using Singtel Fibre or Singtel Mobile. I even tried Cloudflare Warp VPN.

Not so sure if any one has the same issue as well. Thanks.

It should be due to the website owner using Cloudflare to block access from all SG IPs.
I verified that M1 and Starhub cannot access also. It is accessible when using an overseas IP.

I managed to get the $29.90 5Gbps offer through the link (upgrading from 1Gbps). Once I signed up through the link, I Whatsapp them immediately. Initially, Singtel rejected me as I’m not eligible. However, I managed to pursuade (try to request with them for the offer to be reviewed by retention team) with them through Whatsapp as my contract will be ending next month.
After almost 20 years of using Singtel broadband, finally jump ship to the green side and sign up their 3Gbps passion card deal since the red side doesnt seem interested in retaining a loyal customer.

Hub trooper came down to install the new broadband and everything is settle down. Just waiting to return the Singtel equipment after my contract expired in a few days time

I jumped to starhub too. 3gbps plan. Missed out on the 5gbps offer at same price by a few days.. shame.. but from what I've seen, I'm not anywhere near utilizing 3gbps anyway.

Just wondering. CSO never mentioned returning the equipment. Did they tell you this explicitly? I remember when I terminated TV few years back, was asked to return.

No mention now with the fiber termination so I've assumed I can dispose of the onr.
