I check against October 2025 price list for my age... The standard plan for private for me is $1450+

Buy my premium payable next month is 1.9k+

My agent say the 500 increase is due to price revision by moh due to publish 1st Nov....

*note this is not the cash deductible rider policy... I didn't even look at that part yet.
Yeah. Recently got increase. But general rules of thumb, shield plan will increase by age band. Every five years if I recalled correctly.

Seriously, ever since I heard of ppl around me being diagnosed with cancer, insurance really is something important
I know it's important... just that i'm questioning whether I need to maintain shield plan for private hospital vs downgrading to restructured hospital A ward

This month saw a few advertisements by govt with influencers on downgrading shield plans.. lol. They claim without very high rider plans the hospital bills are also still affordable....

(I'm also on max rider)
sigh.. it's getting abit ridiculous i feel.

the basic shield plan for cover (up to private hospital) is $1.9k.. (after medisave deduction need fork out close to 700). Then the cash rider to cover deductibles and co insurance and up the cancer benefit.. that is another 2.2k... total a year 4.1k+ liao.

I was just tapping on to make a comment 🤣 maybe not so necessary . You may ignore.

But then again.. Is there really a need to go private is a question. From what I’ve heard, sometimes certain complications, patients also get referred back to public hospitals…

my wife downgraded all of us to be under public class A ward instead. No point gg private. the rider and annual increases are crazy.

I'm thinking of taking a break from work. But I'm comfortable with my role and workplace since I get to do bare minimum and receive decent salary*.

I would like to ask my manager to allow me to take 6 weeks of leave, combined with my final reservist so that I can take a 2 months rest. Also, I will request they remove my email temporarily from all email groups.

Is this a good idea? This is also my first time making such requests and I've always been replying emails and doing simple tasks whenever I'm out of office.

This time I want to really have a real rest. Last I had it was after my final exam during uni and before my first day at work.

I'm 37 this year and had been working in my first job for almost 12 years.

* Decent salary for BBFA who don't have expensive hobbies and don't... :s34: :s34:
