the basic shield plan for cover (up to private hospital) is $1.9k.. (after medisave deduction need fork out close to 700). Then the cash rider to cover deductibles and co insurance and up the cancer benefit.. that is another 2.2k... total a year 4.1k+ liao.

Actually, the shield plan top tier without rider i'd need to pay deductible (3.5k for private hospital) + 10% copayment... now even with the max rider also need to pay 2k + 5% copayment... like not much diff ah

I think most countries just don’t want to offend China, since maintaining political and business ties with them is still important. Truth be told, the Taiwan-China issue is ultimately between the two of them. Outsiders don’t really have a say in how it plays out, and honestly, neither Taiwan nor China probably cares much about what other countries think anyway.

The main difference is the added benefit for cancer drug which are not covered by the basic shield
