Need experts advice on trip to Malaysia.

Spouse not keen to drive up to Malaysia. We will be travelling with 3 young kids (family of 5) during first week of December.

Spouse suggested to take plane to KL but I suggest to take luxury coach such as Aeroline to KL due to cost. December flight tickets to KL is not really cheap. However spouse has phobia of 3 young kids waiting at the Singapore and Malaysia passport counter and worried there is long queue and it will be very difficult to handle the kids with too long waiting time.

Anyone has experience to share and is it better to take coach bus or flight during first week of December?
Unfortunately, there is no certainty that the ETS will be operational for JB-KL in December.
There are many options to fly to KL. Did you look up all of them?

Airlines:
Air Asia, Batik, Lion, Scoot, SIA, MAS, Firefly, even Ethiopia Air
Airports:
Changi-KLIA, Seletar-Subang, Changi-Subang.

For a one-hour flight, the only important factor to me is the airfare. I found good deals for the return several times, even last-minute. Why don't you take a coach one way and fly on the other way?

When I bring kids, I usually have my wife clear immigration first with them and I will only go forward for my turn after they have successfully cleared, in the same queue, be it a manual or automatic counter.

You might want to try Firefly from Seletar to Subang Airports. However, your kids could be either thrilled or traumatized if they have not taken turboprop aircraft previously. The queue at both airports have been pretty short from my experience.

Agree. Take Firefly between Subang and Seletar for the novelty, if you can. Both are small airports and the smaller aircraft assures a quick check-in and immigration at both ends.

Can anyone advise which hotel is good:

(1) Park Royal Collection Kuala Lumpur
(2) Park Royal Serviced Suite Kuala Lumpur
(3) Sunway Putra Hotel
(4) Sunway Pyramid Hotel
(5) Sunway Velocity Hotel

Anyone stayed in any of these can give insights?
I stayed at Park Royal KL, good location
Used to stay there before their renovation and after also very good, just that carpark is at the other hotel, which belongs to them too

those who are taking coach to KL should take note of this:

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/asia/malaysia-aeroline-coach-operator-service-suspension-5439541
"SINGAPORE: Malaysian coach operator Aeroline is suspending its trips - including those out of Singapore - from Nov 6 to Dec 5 following a directive from the country’s Land Public Transport Agency (APAD)....."

For me at least, being able to stop/board at Bukit Bintang area is the main reason for me to consider taking a coach to/from KL.

I can see the merits from both points of view.
APAD urges operators to use TBS. Of course, every traveller wants to arrive in KL proper instead of having to transfer to other means of transportation. There are other operators that make stops elsewhere in KL, like Pudu Sentral and Berjaya Times Square. I wonder if it is important to APAD to ensure a uniform enforcement across all operators or it is acceptable to allow exceptions.
As a traveller, I may well visit Aeroline's Facebook as it has asked, to offer support.

Take the KTM Komuter on the Port Klang Line from KL Sentral in the evening. It is a limited service that is cheap and fast but only available after 5pm, I think. There is a bridge arrangement for the rest of the day: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanjung_Malim–Port_Klang_Line.

For the rest of the day, there are limited bus services from TBS to Klang Sentral.

What's considered a good deal?
