Hi all, recently switched to M1 10gbps Ont plan from SingTel. Can anyone advise how to debundle SingTel fixed home line from my SingTel 1gbps fiber broadband plan? Do I need to head down to SingTel shop?

Yes, it is better to go to SingTel Shop and M1 Shop to check the process of porting the digital voice.

Basically if you need to port-in digital voice, the overlapping of the two broadband service will need to be longer. That means you have to pay a bit more to SingTel (pro-rated).

Sharing my recent experience with porting Singtel digital voice number to M1.

Do not call SIngtel to terminate your broadband (bundled with digital voice) until M1 notifies you that the port-in is successful. Singtel requires 7 days to terminate your broadband;

Failing to do so will require you to
  1. Call Singtel to "unterminate"
  2. Call M1 to proceed port in
  3. Wait for M1 to notify the successful port in
  4. Call Singtel to terminate (new effective date will be the date you call + 7 days)

that what i was told. anyway your M1 contract end date is good. if for watever reason you cant recontract, just sign new line and arrange installation to be on 12 Dec or 1 to 2 day before to have uninterrupt internet. that why some user here mentioned.
Great thanks man, got off the phone and its this workaround. Cheers.

i just checked with Jurong point branch. this promotion is open to recontract and new sign up.
sure or not bro? a week or 2 ago i went to compass one branch and they say the $30.90 promo is for new sign up only. Recontract will be $34.90.

Update * i just 5 mins ago called up 1623 and ask again about this, and the support staff say its only for new sign ups, no such info for recontract to also enjoy that promotion.

so..... what u say is false info?

Hello shi fus, I recently signed with M1 10Gbps with 2 BT10 and is deciding on a setup. I want to connect the 10gb cable to both the BT10 and my PC.
I read it is recommended for ethernet switch for my setup. I decided to go for TP-link SX105.

1) However is there a recommendation for another cheaper ethernet switch that has 10gbps option? If yes can provide me some links or names to search. Thank you.

2) Does the modem provided by M1 has like multiple 10gbps port or ethernet switch is a must for my set up below?

3) Is the set up below ideal and coverage of the whole area? Or there is a better way. Thank you.

Does not work in your diagram.
it must go ONT > BT10 #1 > switch > BT10#2

IMHO.
I can think of 2 possible configuration.

1st
Add one additional data point from the data point closet to the 1st BT10 ( near TV ).
ONT -> BT10-1 (WAN)
BT10-1 (10GBe LAN) -> SX105.
All data points -> SX105.

2nd
Alternatively, you can do without the SX105 by adding one additional data point from the room with the desktops to the living room where the BT10-1.
ONT-> BT10-1 (WAN)
BT10-1 (10Gbe LAN) -> new data point to room with desktop.

This is assuming you are using the pair of BT10 to support the whole house wirelessly. This configuration will render the other data points inactive. If you existing data points are not 10Gbe ready, just add another Cat6a data point from the data point closer to the TV where the BT-10 is located.

P.S. I am newbie. :ROFLMAO:

I just checked with M1 Jurong Point Shop staff, I think his answer makes sense.

1) The offer is only for new sign-up.

2) For recontract, it is case by case. Some users may be eligible for this offer (and even better offers if any). Basically the same as last time, recontract offer is case by case. You have to check your account or talk to M1.

Last time it was the same. M1 got 6Gbps plan offer at S$34.90 early this year (with free Archer BE805) and the offer was only for new sign-up. But then some M1 users got better 6Gbps recontract offer at S$32.90 per month.

BTW, it is the generally the same the big three: SingTel, M1 and StarHub.

When an offer says it is only for new sign-up, existing users who are eligible for recontract can always check if there is a similar or even better recontract offer.

And if there is no good recontract offer, and you are very close to recontract date, you can usually sign up as a new user to enjoy the new user pricing. There may be issues with bundled service like digital voice though. StarHub may be the best in this aspect as they may be able to help you to port the old digital voice number to new one (but StarHub digital voice is not free but at S$2.18 per month for most plans).

Went M1 today, promo for new sign up 3gbps @ $29.50 with TP/Asus BE6500. 6Gbps @ $36.9 with Asus Be92u + $30 NETS card.

Went with the 6Gbps but going to sell off the router and use existing AX6000, so kinda self-limit to 2.5gbps, but since I'm purely on wireless, it's already high ceiling at 2.5gbps.

But given m1 seems to throw more promo for new sign up, next renewal might have minor issue.

sounds like a good deal !

I am also considering the 6gbps now instead of the 10gbps
And even considering doing to PwP for the Asus BT10 Pack of 2 and resell in in carousell ...

Unless there is significant profit from selling, not really worth the trouble and risk. High chance item sols in carousell are below listed price

It is probably above S$150 profit. This is the only worthy buy from M1 PWP.

Asus ZenWiFi BT10 twin pack.

PWP price: S$504
SRP from Asus: S$1299
Real selling price in Carousell: listing price is usually very high, but I remember reported buying price slightly lower than S$700. One WTB price is at S$600.

The other M1 PWPs are not worth buying.
For example, Archer BE805:
PWP price: S$360
Real selling price in Carousell: below S$300.

(10Gbps plan top up price for Archer BE805 is at S$240 so still okay).

No issues to self limit to 2.5Gbps.

As for the future recontract 21 month or two years later, no need to worry now.

The trend is towards S$30 to S$40 range again, like previously. In fact, main stream plans will more likely be at between S$30 to S$35 down the roads, with some plans go down to S$24 to S$28 level (maybe without router bundle).

Previous GPON based plans, before the XGS-PON based plans gain popularity in 2024/2025.

1) Lower cost plans: around S$30 (eg: M1 500Mbps plan previously)

2) Mid cost plans: around S$40 with router bundle (eg: M1 1Gbps plan previously)

3) Niche cost plans: around S$50 with good router or mesh bundle (M1 2Gbps plan previously)

HWZ needs an AI for these generic questions. :s13:
actually it is wise to use good AI prompts to find answers, and then go forums or friends / family / retail stores etc, to further ask more if needed, or from another perspective etc... i tried multiple AI ( chatgpt, perplexity, copilot, gemini, deepseek) before arriving at any potential solutions / products for purchases etc. hahaha...save a lot of time too!

Yup, AI to help summarise before researching deeper like asking in HWZ specifics/experiences. Youtube etc for reviews too.
Then head down/find online e.g. Shopee etc. for pricing, availability etc.

Need some advise:

Current M1 BB contract ends Jul2026, 1Gbps @ $36.84. Using my own router Asus TUF Gaming AX4200

Now i received an offer for "free speed upgrade" to 6Gbps @ the same price of $36.84 with free Asus RT BE92U. Basically super early recontract?

Wise to take up this offer? And if so should i continue using current router and sell new one, Or use new BE92U and sell the old wifi 6 router?
