When i was at my 2nd night shift job, i know one Malay guy took on 2 x 8 hr shift to support his family.

His first job was a post man, working normal office hours.

His 2nd job was working in my production line, from 11pm - 7am.

Imagine he had remaining 8 hrs to travel, bath, eat & sleep.

He was a great father to his kids & a great husband to his wife to make such sacrifices.

The pay then wasn't great for factory worker, either do post man's pay.

if his normal office hr is 9am to 6pm....his rest time is only 5 hours until 11pm...7am end work and 9am start work again.

how can he maintain sia ...

Unless you‘re working in some night shift where it is busy with things happening (e.g. healthcare, pubs/bars, logistics, police patrol), most times the graveyard shift exists just to make sure someone is present in case there’s something to cover.

Meaning you can sleep, eat your tit bits, watch your dramas

I rmb back in 2013 I did.

It was a 10pm to 6am job.

And when I go home thru mrt Im like zombiefied looking at all the train people who are just going to work.

Whats your experience with nightshift?
When i was single at 31 and just started working at the current coy, i liked night shift because of $20/night, even on a year of 11pm-7am shift and the train wasn't pack when go work and go home
Then quite steam and couldn't sleep because of the gap between window blinds that let the sunlight shines in, so my mum made a curtain to block the sunlight

After i got married, my wife follows me to do night shift since we are on couple shift
Would avoid late night shift unless can't find someone to swap it with
We are fine with early night (6pm and 8pm)
Doing late night shift worsens our complexion

Yes shift work is very industry dependent

Think perhaps cause the body nature clock is tuned for maintenance and repair at night when people sleep. When long term deprived it of that, the body cannot take it one.
I will fall sick easily if do night shift work:)

May get headache perhaps, when not enough sleep. Or so when sleep during the day time. :s22:

Think do night one should have allowance for some rest time in between for short sleep bah. Not as tired when last through the night. As compare to having to stay awake throughout the night.

Not really night shifts but worked 24 hour rotation for a few years when young. Night time still can get a couple of hours of sleep, the next day would be a off day where I just go work side line. At most go home sleep another couple of hours if didn't manage to get any sleep during the shift. Always had been a night owl so didn't really feel any difference.

I saw some health documentary before.

According to TCM, our body repairs itself around 11pm .
So being asleep before 11pm will make one look healthy and young.

got. last time during poly holiday, went to work those stock taking for courfourr.
I almost joined my friend after O-Levels at IKEA...

But my need for sleep prevailed back then. :o

Back then, I was almost like a cat, can (or rather, need to) sleep more than 12hrs per day.
