Just got another call and talked to the guy on behalf of my wife. I thekn they said they are from Resort World Organisation (not sure I had gotten it right), acting on behalf of a UK company willing to buy over 2nd TS membership from current TS members for their own clients' usage. Willing to pay up to 75% of cost, one time payment to you and nothing asked and nothing to do with TS on your part any more after that deal. They claim they can only offer to 30 people in 1 day and after the offer, nothing else they can offer you. Well, at least I got to talk to another senior guy from the comapany and upon hearing my negative response, he politely say happy new year and good-bye. Anyone encounter this?

Crntbs.

You won't believe how much your excellent post has angered me.

Since all these companies are ganging up against us to fabricate more lies to utterly destroy us, should we not find a way to conspire against them too? It just isn't fair to us.

I've been through quite a lot too. Still emotionally traumatised and not ready to share my full story to everyone yet. My real story started in 2001 ...

Bros / sis who have PM me, I have already reply you.

It also angers me that they are still at it, and at large. CASE knows that these people are the ones being complained against the most, yet it seems that they are not doing enough to prevent these scams from perpetuating. What is the government doing?

This thread is one of the longest ... and most popular among the other threads.

And I only post 2 public entries so far, never even elaborate my experience much ... already so many people PM me and ask for advice ... I even help another stranger here already ... does it not say something about how we all should gang up against them? Otherwise they will just go on treating us like moron. :( Me sad.

unfortunately, according to CASE, we can't really do anything unless you can gather a group of people (not sure how many ppl) to sue the company that is cheating your money. The problem is not alot of ppl are not willing to spend the time and $$$ to sue the company. Moreover, you'll need a leader to gather up the victims. Take my friend for example, she is so emotionally drained that her only wish is not to receive anymore phone calls from these companies. She din't even want her money back. :(

That's also why these timeshare companies keep coming back dispites all these complains. >.<

Why don't we post out the names of the companies we shold blacklist here? I could compile a list and we could put on our blogs or so to create more awareness. This list will be updated time to time.

I will put 1 of such list on my Facebook Fan Page which is about Travelling too.

We really need to create MORE Awareness and DAMN these companies to stop people from falling into such traps.

Heres one from me to start:
1. I-Discover International Pte Ltd/ previously known as Discovery8 Pte Ltd (Cold Call Marketed by Asia Demand)
2. Resort World Organisation (Cold Call to buy over Time Share Contracts, which is you need to PAY again)

Timeshares has been around for so long. And ppl still flocking to sign up?

I been to one 'seminar' 5 years ago at the Rolex building in orchard. Didnt know its timeshares so i went along. Why timeshares are still allowed to operate and why ppl wants to work for them? Selling something which is not viable and thru aggressive tactics somemore.

One of the common tactic i observe was they like to flatter ppl by saying how smart/wealthy they are. And buying timeshares is considered one of the thing a smart/rich person will do. They let me go after 1 hr when I keep telling them i just started working and got no money to pay for such investments/holidays. Even then, they say I will earn 5 figure salary soon, blah blah blah... and keep asking me sign up. KNS.

Hi cutepig,

I have done booking with them before, and successfully booked checked in to my hotel. Given that however you CANNOT count on them to get back to you, INSTEAD, you need to Keep Going to Them, like bombing their lines.. Thats what I did before I got my booking. Thats such poor service they provide. A pointer from me is, keep looking for WEN TING or WENDY to process your booking.

Regarding your question; Put it simple and harsh, they will not refund you even if you write-in as they say. You may like to go to speak to a CASE officer like Im going to. Their service is just THAT BAD.

If you support my cause, please join my page at Facebook and suggest it to your friends as well to spread awareness of such companies. DON'T LET THEM MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE.

I'm just writing this out to create awareness if any of you might be contacted by them, and are prepared for such 'presentations'.

Arrival day

Office is at 3rd storey Regency House (take the elevator next to the hair salon), between Dhoby Ghaut and Somerset MRT. At first when I exited the lift, I saw "i.Discover International", not "Asia Demand", I left, but when I called them, they said it is the place.

When I arrived, the lady who called me (Karen) wasn't around, so another girl (Stella) spoke to me for the first 90 minutes.

Recollection of stuff discussed during the 90 minutes
  • They are NOT timeshare. Timeshare is Resorts, instead they do hotels.
  • Timeshare takes 6 months to switch between resorts, instead they have a pool of readily available hotels that you can choose to stay in
  • They have partnerships with a huge number of hotels, mainly 4 or 5 star hotels (did they like to mention Sultan of Brunei 'owns' the hotel chain?)
  • For these hotels, membership rates for the first 10 days are SGD $10-50 per night, and a bit more expensive after these 10 days. (Regional hotels are cheapest, and european hotels the most ex)
  • The hotel rates are so cheap, because you're only paying for breakfast, make-up-room service, etc... And they are trying to earn from spa and room services, instead of letting the rooms stay vacant
  • Membership rates for cruises are also highly discounted, about 60% to 70%.
  • Yearly membership fees is $350, and one-time membership fee (that lasts 50 years) undisclosed
  • If you didn't travel for one entire year, there will be a rebate of $600 per non-travelling year, so that you're not obliged to travel just because you paid for membership

Other info

The call was from: 64381238, by Karen, from "Asia Demand", an outsourced call center.
The person who attended to me, was Stella.
The address of the place is the 3rd Level of Regency House.

sorry, post above was very long, I have snipped off parts of it for awareness.
Fellow forumer 'felali' have discovered 'Discovery VIII'. They may have reinvented themselves.

A while back, I posted that they shifted out of their infamous lair at Tong Building. and I posted the new address

123 Penang Road #03-12 Regency House Singapore 238465

it appears felali visited them in their new lair. The way felali described how they market the package, is the exact modus operandi I experienced.

Back then, they don't hammer for the full amount straight, they will try to whack a hefty deposit if possible, then they will get you to sign up a GIRO application, so they can siphon your hard earned blood money monthly. I guess in a way, it's like paying off those investment-linked insurance policy, it's more acceptable, when you pay off thousands of dollars monthly rather than 1 shot.

Timeshares has been around for so long. And ppl still flocking to sign up?

I been to one 'seminar' 5 years ago at the Rolex building in orchard.

The building has shop with prominent 'Rolex' brand/signage on the ground floor.
Is actually the infamous 'Tong Building'.

Let me help bro '9cheCk9' list a bit.

If you get a call and they identify themselves as 'Asia Demand', hang up straight away. They are a call center to lure innocent victims to

Discovery8 Pte Ltd/DiscoveryVIII - Previously at Tong Building but now known as

I-Discover International Pte Ltd with address @
123 Penang Road #03-12 Regency House Singapore 238465 (avoid like they have SARS).

MO: claimed they not Timeshare, say they marketing travel/hotel/cruise package
sums involved usually above 10K, will ask for 1 time payment or hefty deposit with monthly GIRO.

There's a company at regency house who claims not to be a timeshare company. I must admit that I'm ignorant abt all these timeshare issues and has innocentlt signed up with one but now have no idea how to get out of it...

So when i went back again to cancel the contract, by then the staff said that the 5 days period is way far too over, so I can't cancel it. I reported to CASE and sent them a letter, however there is no reply. I feel that this company has not been fully transparent and is very unfair....now I am totally at lost as to what to do????

above was truncated by me. That was 'i.Discovery' the infamous DiscoveryVIII.

did you pay them any money? was it the full sum or only a deposit?

Did they make any arrangement for monthly payments? e.g. GIRO?

I got conned by the same company while they were at Tong Building.

I paid a small deposit and i serviced it monthly for 2 years.

It's painful, but i wrote off as a bad investment. I sent them a registered post, and cancel GIRO. After which I ignored their letters and I changed mobile number. - my own experience

Don't go to CASE - I read about those who went.
1.Victims were made to eat the humble pie, told to negotiate with the 'timeshare' and continue payments.
2.CASE is powerless with no real authority, they are not able to spot any loopholes in the scam and knowing contract laws, they have to abide by it.
3. lost time/lose money/ gah'men also heck care you, hang you up to be slaughter/raped.

Thanks Jack.

They just s**k...

Jack, did you do any bookings from them all these years? Hows your plan now?

BLACK LIST
Heres one from me to start:
1. If you get a call and they identify themselves as 'Asia Demand', hang up straight away. They are a call center to lure innocent victims to

2. Discovery8 Pte Ltd/DiscoveryVIII - Previously at Tong Building but now known as

3. I-Discover International Pte Ltd with address @
123 Penang Road #03-12 Regency House Singapore 238465 (avoid like they have SARS).

4. Resort World Organisation or ANY company that claim they can buyover your Timeshare or Contract.
They cold call you to buy over Time Share or Contracts, but they will ask you to pay again and say you can get back your (Almost) all your amount in X years time. PLEASE AVOID THEM BECOZ ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

5. Lee & Chandra Partners Pte Ltd (Located at Chinatown Point) this is another company that claim they can help you with a FEE. Please remember all LAW firms are always registered with LLP and Never PTE LTD, so a self acclaimed law firm of Pte Ltd is probably nothing decent. Thanks Taurus for the information.

6.Jeremiah & Partners
They claim that the company that you brought the timeshare from was under investigation and the Singapore Courts have place a sizeure on their companies. To summary they want you to pay the courts fees to them before they can bring the case to the courts.

Worldex Asia
They will call you to say a oversea company will be buying over your TS and ask you to go down their company to neogiate the selling price and after that you can collect the cheque immediately.

Lets try to spread this awareness to everyone. Please join my FACEBOOK PAGE and hope it helps more people out there.

Spy/Insider In Forum!!BEWARE!!!

Dear all readers/friends/victims, be aware of this particular person named: ross**** in this forum, he sounds too pro to be a victim where he know all membership companies so clearly?? How many victims here visited more than 1company but how can he even know all the companies at the back of his hand. Suspicious???? Consider thrice b4 meeting him. U can call up small claims tribunals and check on details by yourself on how to file up claims against these companies and don't need the assistance of anyone to assist u as he/she may another scam/liar to cheat u out of more money. Be aware of these new companies out to cheat money again like Lee & Chandra Partners(Located at Chinatown Point). They tell you that they are legal service company but trust me, call up the law society and you'll know. My parents had entered into agreement with them and they purposely cancel off the 5days cooling off period and mis-led my parents to sign. Be very wary of the ross**** & Lee & Chandra Partners Pte Ltd. Remember a law firm will NEVER be registered under PTE LTD but under LLP, check it out if u don't believe me. Good Luck, readers. Hope my advice could help.

...

dun worry abt that becoz the 5days cooling off period still applies even if they cancel off. same thing happened to my friend and she had gotten back her deposit. what she had done is getting CASE to intervene and she kept calling the so-called "Legal" company to return her the deposit...

Dear people,

UP for awareness. Be wary of Rossmani. If there are any people whom had been helped by him/her, please feel free to clear up his/her name here so everyone knows.

Recently Rossmani claimed he/she could help me, I gave her my Full name and Contact number and then I have never received his/her message so far. Of course, the name I gave was fake, and the number was not my number but still reachable to me. Anyway, I haven't heard from Rossmani since.
