In a way, still happy for you, at least I know you won't regret getting this ring. It's Solasfera after all.

no.. only JP has solasfera... and total i am paying more.

the private jewel is using normal loose disamonds. with F/G colour, VS clarity.
JP mini solasfera is D,E,F color, VVS grade

$2.5k for a proposal ring is cheap. Congrats on the good deal. My fiancee will not be happy with me if i were to get a $2.5k ring.

mine is 3/4 eternity, as full eternity cannot resize ring.

so for my ring size + no of qty x ct of mini solasferas is less than $2.5k
the private jewel cost $2k - paid 1k deposit.
how many numbers of mini solasferas?

hi guys,

i just spent the past 2 hrs reading the part 1 and realised most of you guys recommended JP.
Im in the US working now and will be back in may, and im planning to buy a proposal ring. my dilemma is if i should buy here from WF/BN since im here.

What do you guys think? shld i wait to get back in singapore? i visited a few diamond shops and have concluded the cut is definately the deal breaker.. i would definately go for the best cut and lesser on the other Cs. My budget is about 7 -8k.. im willing to stretch alittle.

What would you guys recommend??

thanks guys.

diamonds in the US are pretty good and reasonably priced too..
you just need to do your homework so know if you are getting a good deal or not.

i think you should recce out over in the US first.. come back to Singapore..see around.. and compare which is making your money's worth.
If US has equally good specs at a cheaper price then get it back there.

Well of course it all depends how much time you have left before you need to propose.

anyone bought from b2cjewels.com previously? how is their reliability?

They only show the certificate of the diamonds they sell.
No Ideal Scope, Aset Scope, Hearts & Arrows Scope..
The pictures they put on the diamonds are sample pictures too. So it's not the actual diamond.

I would say it's kinda buying a diamond blindly in the dark...

Hello guys,

If you are looking for more to high end diamonds for proposal/wedding ring.
I can refer you to a shop at marina square.
Come with certificate of authenticity.
Only make out the diamonds when you decide to buy. Which mean, there's no stock in the outlet. only display set that let you to try. they only order and from there they make out the diamonds for you. (as it's high end diamonds)

Also Can customise the type of ring you have ideas in your mind.

I can refer you to them, and you can consider over there and take a look.
With me refer you there, you would able to get a better price than you going to youself. CHEERS!

Hi,

Just wonder if they without stock in hand, how we can know whether the diamond is good or not? What you mean by high end diamond? meaning of your high end means super ideal diamond?

When you say about display set to try? what we can see? just the ring setting? hmm... just wonder why you will recommend this since they don't have stock to show. How customer select what grade of diamond they want?

Just curious only... what is the name of the store?

If you want to buy online, i think jamesallen.com not too bad. because some of the diamond they provide scope photo as well.

If you ask me, i will still think that buy online is not that good because of the after sales service. If you need to do resizing, need to send the ring back, polishing also need to send back... all incur postage charges. And goods coming in Singapore need to pay 7% gst. After everything, the price will not be that fantastic.

Above just my thinking.

i have been following this thread since 2010 when i was thinking of buying a proposal ring. that time still got this person called dawnmin or something like that. To cut the long story short, there's alot of people who recommends buying from JP instead of SooKee, LeeHwa, GoldHeart.

I did not purchase from JP, neither did i make a trip down to view their collection. I took a leap of faith and purchased the diamond and ring from Whiteflash. It's a 0.6 carat diamond, F color, VS2, AGS 0, HCA score > 2 (think it was 1.3), 18k gold tiffany setting. Total damage was close to SGD3500 (including GST, shipping, insurance). Think it was around June last year.

Anyway i just wanted to share my experience here. I got what i paid for, nice sparkling diamond that gets alot of attention wherever we went. You have to try it to believe.

Just saw the post above me, so to add, the only problem with buying online is that you have to get the ring size right to avoid having to resize. Polishing? every jewelry shop we went to they also want to help us polish. See no problem there. =)

high end diamond just sounds expensive to me.. Isn't Super Ideal the highest grade in terms of a diamond cut? Not offense but it sounds abit dodge...
