If you want to buy online, i think jamesallen.com not too bad. because some of the diamond they provide scope photo as well.

If you ask me, i will still think that buy online is not that good because of the after sales service. If you need to do resizing, need to send the ring back, polishing also need to send back... all incur postage charges. And goods coming in Singapore need to pay 7% gst. After everything, the price will not be that fantastic.

Above just my thinking.

True.. if you include all the shipping and insurance costs, it does adds up to be about the same.. Either way, I would still feel more comfortable seeing the diamond first before passing my money over.

high end diamond just sounds expensive to me.. Isn't Super Ideal the highest grade in terms of a diamond cut? Not offense but it sounds abit dodge...

jhchoo85,

Yea... super ideal that mean from my post above are all the cut, symmetry and polish are highest grade. I think we can see that quite common outside. That is why i want to ask how to define high end diamond from the person that recommend a store at marina.

agree with you. That is why i end up buying from JP than from bluenile, jamesallen or others.

paying few hundred more, can see and feel the diamond...somemore can assure a better after sales service than online store... i think it worth the money.
i saw some people feedback on their experience in online purchased diamond, customer service before the sales is good but after you make payment, the service level drop. And 30days/60days money back guarantee is not as easy as they sound.

For those people that want to purchase online, please make sure you choose the correct diamond and also choose the correct ring size, else you will end up pay some unnecessary fee.

i have been following this thread since 2010 when i was thinking of buying a proposal ring. that time still got this person called dawnmin or something like that. To cut the long story short, there's alot of people who recommends buying from JP instead of SooKee, LeeHwa, GoldHeart.

I did not purchase from JP, neither did i make a trip down to view their collection. I took a leap of faith and purchased the diamond and ring from Whiteflash. It's a 0.6 carat diamond, F color, VS2, AGS 0, HCA score > 2 (think it was 1.3), 18k gold tiffany setting. Total damage was close to SGD3500 (including GST, shipping, insurance). Think it was around June last year.

Anyway i just wanted to share my experience here. I got what i paid for, nice sparkling diamond that gets alot of attention wherever we went. You have to try it to believe.

Just saw the post above me, so to add, the only problem with buying online is that you have to get the ring size right to avoid having to resize. Polishing? every jewelry shop we went to they also want to help us polish. See no problem there. =)

Just curious, are those jewelry shop give you free of charge for the polishing?

I think he means high end diamonds as branded diamonds?? It kinda sounds like defred, the MLM company. They give discounts and commissions through referrals. Visited them before and wasn't too impressed.. They don't really know much when I asked them questions.

If someone selling you something doesn't even know what they are selling, how good can the products be? :s13:

I think they might do better sales if they go book appointment with JP. =:p

For me, buying locally, I can pay deposit and balance separately and make use of Manhattan card to get rebate. :D

I agree too! Just for a few hundred dollars more, you get to see in person that beautiful diamond you're buying, and save on all the hassle (e.g. shipping, taxes, and who is going to polish it for you?); and assuming its from JP (who is already enjoying a great reputation here) you get quality service, as well as assurance its the best diamond anywhere around!

Initially, I was tempted by the savings and wider choice (given my time frame) from online retailers (e.g. GOG, whiteflash, jamesallen), but as the process went by, it was money very well spent at JP!

Hi guys! Went for my appointment with Jann Paul, impressive service i must say!
Was interested in a trilogy in the 1st place, but decided for a solitaire in the end hahah as it looks more appealing for me in actual.. Brings out the diamond more...

I was served by David... Very nice guy and looks quite young. Besides the intensive diamond education (spent 3 hrs!!), he also took the trouble to explain designs as well! He was very patient with my many questions.. At first i was at a lost when it comes to choosing of design :s11: and he helped alot by evaluating what looks good and whats not.
Well, i must say their designs look fantastic anyway, hmm... so from their design i picked out a unique one for my partner and tweak it alil and this is what ive sketched out

Shortly after, they sent me an realistic image of the design that ive sketched out :s12:

Thanks for the thread bros, been a great help for my search in engagement ring!
If not I wouldnt have found such jeweler for my demanding request hahahah
(I was being alil hard, hope they didnt mind) :D

Did you make an appointment with Jann Paul? Although they are located in HOH, they are different. HOH sells those ready set rings like those typical retail stores. Jann Paul sells super ideal diamonds.. so they wouldn't sell a cut which is only very good..
