So we both now have a 'black' elephant.
Potential buyers take note not to purchase N66 for the time being until this preset issue for M1 is resolved. There are a bunch of very helpful people working to get the information to Asus.

Lol. Yeah, at least for the time being till I have time to flash to third party firmware to try the manual tagging.

Asus is indeed looking into the matter. Hope it gets resolved soon :)

Did you perform a factory reset to default (clear nvram) when upgrading to 108? Internet should be working concurrently with M1 voice with HG256 connected to port 3 of the N66 with baked in M1-Fiber settings under the WAN Advanced Settings. Just make sure you also power cycle both the ONT and the HG256 when you reassign and reattach the ethernet cables.

For illustrations, this is the way to hook up the ethernet cables.

Nucleus Connect ONT Port 1 --> WAN port of RT-N66U
Port 3 of RT-N66U --> WAN port of M1 HG256

When I first upgraded to 102, I did do a factory reset and power cycled ONT, HG and N66 but it still wouldn't work. I did not do a reset for 108. As an aside, I would find it rather user unfriendly for a hardware implementation to have to do a factory reset each time there is a firmware upgrade. Regardless, if I have the opportunity, I might try to do that over the weekend.
It's good to know that your N66 works with M1 voice. In my earlier postings in this thread, I have screen shots of my settings. Could you please take a look to see if there is something I did incorrectly? Alternatively, could you post your screen shots so that I can duplicate them. Thanks.

Hi Scuderia,
My VOIP is working fine on port 3, only Internet is not working which I suspect is the issue of packets being tagged wrongly for outgoing traffic. I did not clear my nvram though after upgrading to .108.

Are you on M1 and the preset configuration works for you? If so, then I will reconnect everything back and try clearing the nvram. Please verify.

Yes. M1 presets work for both 102 and 108.

Dear Scuderia,

Would you mind to upload setting saved file with sensitive data(eg. password) removed?

It might benefit to those who are having issue while I can also request our RD to look into it.

Thanks.

Best regards,
ASUS Technology.

@Scuderia,

It would be good if you can clarify how 'clear nvram' was done.
Is it the 30/30/30 hard reset method?
Before or after firmware upgrade ?

Think I managed to track down the bug to the port forwarding rules.

Enable port forwarding must be set to "Yes".
