Hi all brothers, I need some help here.

Going through the instructions many times, I am met with a hardware issue.

After selecting the .tar file to be patched, I am supposed to plug in the phone to the computer via usb in download mode. I understand that in Odin, a port has be colored yellow for it to register my device am I right?

If so, then here's the hardware problem I was talking about: It only shows the 0COM:3 in highlighted yellow WHEN I TURN ON THE PHONE TO NORMAL MODE. When I plug it in in download mode, it doesn't show anything.

My USB debugging is turned on based on other tutorials from other websites. I am still stuck.

Need serious help. I'm on LJ5.

switch off your phone and put it to download mode...

Ya I rooted it then flashed that ROM lor.

Did you try opening the Multiview sidebar then go down to 'Edit'? Then u will see all the apps you have that you can drag it into the Multiview sidebar.

possible to add whatsapp to the list?

Finally rooted my note ii lte after updating firmware to LJ5

Purpose of rooting was to move apps to SD and placing custom apps onto the multi window

However, apps2SD is not supported, and link2SD requires 2 primary partitions on the SD.

I do not wush to reformat inorder to repartition, so I'll hunt for other solutions, mayb directory binding...

Now, multi window, the method from xda that involves flashing a custom zip file, only shows settings for LJ1 and LJ3.. any idea if LJ5 can use the LJ3 settings?

Thnx

yeah. that one. with the link to create your own zip for flashing from modaco

so far, the only 2 apps that i wished to have on my multiview is "whatsapp" and "SB Buses"

don't think i will flash the hk LJ4 rom just for that ..

Yea same.. If only whatsapp can be supported officially. I don't really want to go through the hassle of rooting and flashing cwm just for that though. Quite happy with present out of the box state. No problems whatsoever! Haha

If you read carefully, I did say that when in download mode, the com port doesn't show up in Odin.

try different usb port.

for my case, same issue like yours when I used the front usb port, but no prob when I use the usb port which directly from motherboard.
