thanks for the advice i manage to connect it now.
But i notice my transfer speed is only 2mb/s.
i try difference file size still about 2mb/s.
I set to Standard volume. i connect to 2wire port 1-Gbit.
Does RAID-0 transfer fast than Standard volume?
what else can i do to increase the speed?

Glad you resolve the connection issue.

Best to do a benchmark on the NAS to determine the actual cause of bottleneck (suspect is the 2wire router). Do made sure that there are no network activity before doing the test to ensure a clean result.

With the high HD failure rate nowadays, I wouldn't advice going for RAID-0, the performance increase is not that great anyway.

Thanks for starting this thread.

I bought mine at SITEX too, also my first NAS. Fiddling with it for a few weeks, quite interesting. The biggest problem I have is to stream media from it to my Samsung SmartTV. I have a UA40ES5500 connected via wifi. I can surf internet and stream media from my PC darddisk using AllShare Play. In fact, I can see my NAS drive, but when I go into the Videos folder, it is empty. I have videos on my NAS, but it doesn't get displayed. Do I have to put my media files in a particular folder in the NAS? Any ideas?

DNS320L SSL remote webUI access

Wonder anyone try the remote webUI access via SSL? I have no problem with normal remote access. When I start to use the SSL way to login, the browser seems to do some loading via https but the page remains blank.

If I use the same method (SSL) to access the webUI within home network, the page can be loaded with https.

Did you port-forward 443 in your router?

yes. I have forward both port 80 and 443 to the NAS in my router. If I accessed using SSL within my home network, I can access. But once I access it remotely, the web page is totally blank.

Does the normal http access work remotely? And which firmware are you on?

Actually there is new 1.01b02 but the release log did not mention anything regarding remote SSL access problem.

Thanks for the information. Realized this firmware is from Taiwan side. Is this applicable to us in Singapore. Dlink seems to have different firmware for different regions.

Actually I may not have described the problem I am facing clear enough. When accessing remotely with my ddns account, I am able to see the webUI login page. This shows that nothing wrong with the ddns account and the prot forwarding. I enter my password and selected the SSL login. Then the browser status shows as waiting, trying to access my NAS. The address bar shows the correct site and it started to load. After a while the status at the bottom of the browser show as done but the screen is still blank.

My feel is something in my browser is blocking the content of the site but still can't find what is it.

TSD or Taiwan Support site host all the support files for D-Link products. Unless the firmware state it is meant for certain region, one can safety assumed it's meant for WW or World-Wide release. Anyway, it's always prudent to read the release log before proceeding with the firmware upgrade.

As for your SSL problem, similar issue was reported for DNS-320 v2.02 firmware but it was for normal HTTP access. Thus I could only conclude that this is likely a firmware bug.
