Hi all,

I just got my S3 non LTE. When i want to update the software. It prompt, phone has been modified. Software update not available? What it mean? If there any way that i can do the update?

likely due to rooting of the phone and 4.1.1 detects it

so this is an upgrade from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2? Or it's an update for 4.1.2 users?

It's an upgrade from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 with the patch. I'm not sure if it includes all the features of the Premium suite, but it definitely has the multi-window.

I didn't really explore much into it but i find it faster and smoother than before.

then if i'm not 4.1.1 yet, then i cannot use this patch?

An even newer firmware is out now XELLC. Don't know if Samsung is gonna push out this version instead.

assuming ur phone it rooted already, run triangle away(google it) if ur binary download is 0 u no need to proceed further if not flash stock rom via mobile odin or pc odin(google it) and factory reset via recovery.

I thought the fix is out already and not in form of new firmware?

"The "Sudden Death" issue is caused by firmware on the (16 GB) VTU00M, revision 0xf1 eMMC (Embedded MultiMedia Card or internal memory if you like). Samsungs Kernel Source Code (Update 7) has been identified as the fix." - Taken from XDA -

Or I missed out something else and the fix is in XELLxxx instead?

Update:
Just read it that for those that motherboard is not changed in Samsung service center and updated to update 7, the update is indeed from those firmware..
Mine just got back last sunday and when I check, it is update 7 though firmware is still 4.1.1...
