Hi Seniors, Need help here..

B&F student...failed econs...must retake nxt yr
So for yr 2, this is what i plan to take

Econs
MSM
FI
VSA
and maybe 1 more accounting modules (any idea which one easier)

yr 3: CF, Macro, Investment mgt, and a lvl 100 module.

Is this order ok? Advice pls..

I'll be a year 2 AnF student soon but aren't sure which combination to take next year after reading the past replies.

Year 2: Math2&Stats2, ME, FR & Auditing OR Maths2&Stats2, ME, FM & FR or MA??

Because I saw some seniors said FR & FM shouldn't take tgt since it is tedious, ME & MA shouldn't take tgt because past few years their papers are on the same day. Not sure whether if it is the case!

Need help to arrange my mod if you have any suggestion, intending to take Math2 Stats2, ME, FR, Audit, FM, MA, HRM, ESAP/MSM????

took both in 2013 exams.

comparing between the 2, it is definitely MM which is more tedious. format changed in 2013 exam. last time, out of 8 qns choose 5. now do ALL 8. but still 3 hrs paper i think it's like 99% cannot finish the paper. u dont have much time to think. read finish qn, attempt alr. you will be rushing to do the qns and time's up. still possible to do well BUT only if you really put in a lot of effort. if just chill relax, wont score high. requires practise and more practise. Dr Phil will upload a lot of past yr qns, coupled w his solutions. so you dont need to worry abt lacking of prac qns. he is approachable and willing to help. but you got to get used to his accent. it'll be alright after a few lessons.

MSM is easier and requires less effort compared to MM. there will be 1 theory qn which spans over 3 topics, other qns can be qualitative or quantitative. iirc, max of 3 theory based qns for the entire paper. if you are under Mr David Quek, you'll have access to his Mi Ji ie compilation of qns. there's abt 80 qns or so. possible to master the art of anwering qns. quantitative qns are like step-by-step way to do. do note there can be part b qn which ask abt theory when part a is abt cal. marks weightage on theory part b not that much though, ans quite standard.

are u allowed to take POA concurrently with FR/AUDIT/MA?
even if allowed, I think it would be too much.

even if assuming you had passed POA & ME, taking FM, FR, Audit, MA, only these 4 units alone could be quite a killer.

just my 1centsworth.

since u failed POA, u cant take Audit MA FR FM.
so u have to take an extra year to clear the degree. take POA ME CF. den yr4 take Audit MA FR.
otherwise, change your course. (CF seems to be tough for the May 2013 exam, so consider hard)

which level 100 unit is good?

Im considering betwwen IS1168 Introduction to computer systems architecture and programming and IS1060 Introduction to information systems.

IS1168 does not have any coursework but its a relatively new unit thus im not too sure what is it about after looking through the subject guide. Probably those that took this unit can share how heavy the content is?

IS1060 on the other hand has coursework which takes up 25% and the remaining is written work. I'm just afraid that the coursework will take up a lot of time to beautify it which might result in lack of time for revision for the other core mods.

Hi all, appreciate some advice here.

Currently a B&F student year 2 due to bridging. I failed my CF and Macro econs.

Since I am under the new regulation, SIM told me that I could only take 5 modules next acad year.

May I know does that include self study module? I intend to take 5 and self study 1.
