Seek free legal advise from the lawyers in Singapore Free Legal Clinics - All. Hear their opinion. Basically CHE is no longer in operation and they did not provide any of their mentioned service. They did not honor the deal in the first place intending to secretly close business 2 months after they sell you a 10 year membership???? I and some other victims have blocked the strike off through ACRA application back then(spend $10 I think) Make police report and request CAD interview. I have complained they are running a scam and I am a fraud victim. I will support you. Do not give them another cent. There is CASE for consumer but they are totally useless when dealing with CHE(Waste of my time and effort. Even lied they never hear complain about CHE when I first check with them) Finally do not give up.

The CAD lied lah. I also file a complaint last year with professionally written letter with supporting documents for my case.

I even have proof that Jerry tan lied to me because I have his email stating all the claims that is not true. CAD just said thankyou for my info and keep quiet.

There is no such thing as a refund or buy-back.
They are just out to milk more money from you.

And if someone call you about timeshare, you can either:
1. ask them to F off, tell them their kids next time no asshole
2. or just hang up

Couldn't agree more. There are NO REFUND and NO BUY-BACK.

Timeshares are actually membership contracts, where you purchased a contract to be able to use their facilities and services, its like a country club membership. Do you think your country club membership has resell value when you have limited usage time left and there are no limits to the number of members that can join the club?

So DO NOT fall into another scam with people telling you they can get refund or even resell higher.

Now a contract is a contract, you signed it, they have all the rights to take legal actions and legal debt collection against you. Yes you can argue the contract was unfair and I agree, but your only choice is getting CASE to help to intervene and terminate. And ONLY TERMINATE. Read the contract carefully, you will understand you have more chance of losing in court.

IMPORTANTLY, treat it like a bad purchase, buying a lemon 10 years ago where there wasn't much consumer protections.

THE Consumers Association of Singapore does more than flag errant companies and help consumers with their disputes ("Concerted effort needed to tackle errant retailers" by Mr Lin Howard; Forum Online, Sept 4).

We also go to court to apply for injunctions that stop companies from committing unfair practices under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act.

We have acted against five such businesses since the law took effect in 2004. Our latest case is against a timeshare company, Concord Developments, which has since ceased operations.

However, I think that it is better to get more allies on your side to retaliate against the timeshare scamming companies. In my opinion, it does not help by complaining against CAD and CASE. Instead, I think you should try to get them on your side.

I was very thankful with CASE because the lady handling my case was very helpful actually. First, she highlighted clearly that CASE can only help to negotiate but not guarantee success. I acknowledged that positively and understood their limitations. However, I would appreciate very much if they did their best to help. The lady kept updating me the status at least once a week. I had never lost my patience nor chase her for a closure. I believed such positive interaction was reciprocrated by her active help. About 1 month later, IRN sent me a termination letter and my nightmares ended.

It took me 10 years to get out of the timeshare ****.

Keep following up with CAD and CASE. Be nice to them andunderstand their limitations too. Otherwise, you can engage your civil lawyer to sue Jerry Tan. However, I think this scammer is not stupid too. You just need to be patient and hope for the best.

Thank you for your concern. Despite CASE's letter and SCT Order CHE refused to refund. I eventually get back my money when I request the bank to help fight for credit card chargeback and after 7 months successfully get back all my money. For CAD and CASE, I know they have their limitation but they show no urgency to prevent these scums from committing further Scam.

Police=You are filing for reference only. We are not taking any action as it is out of our jurisdiction.

CAD=There are a lot of other complains but we need to further analyse the case. We are always still analyzing the issue. No further comment.

CASE=We only work office hour. If Timeshare company only open after office hour and during weekends and holiday then we are unable to investigate on them as we are all already off duty.

Anyone has been called up by CAD for recording of statement regarding idiscovery group which was linked to gold guarantee pte ltd? I was conned into paying 8.5k for the rental of my timeshare and now idiscovery is under CAD investigation. I Was wondering if I can get back some money after the investigation... Jerry Tan was charged in court by CAD for forgery

Hi,

From the subordinate court schedule, I find that Jerry Tan Kim Huat has been charged by Police Prosecutor under penal code section 465 (which is for forgery).

The result is 1st CCDC which I have to check what it means.

On top of that, CIMB bank seems to be suing Jerry Tan Kim Huat in the Supreme Court presently.

Hi, anyone know this company? I received a call from them saying that he could help to terminate the membership. I only require to pay about 5k lawyer fee and he will prepare all the paperwork and book the lawyer date plus going to court.

The CAD did not call me up for second interview regarding my complaint after last Aug 2012 meetup. Any news he is convicted? We still have victim needing to go to SCT to hear his "Request for payment" Cannot believe that the law(SCT) is helping him getting money from victim. I wish that Singapore Court and the SPF can really look into this character and stop him once and for all. Do not degrade yourself to the level as a tool for him to con money out of victim.

Oh! so he has used SCT now to claim from victims. I discover that he has closed down all his websites..cours montreux, corwn holiday exchange, Singapore precious metal etc...all these wensites can no longer be found.

So is his companies still operating? If not, then the victims should tell SCT that he is not honoring..even his move to strike off company from bizfile and still recruiting business is sufficient ground to prove that.

If he is convicted, it will appear in CAD website in a few months. It is forgery.I wonder what forgery, related to what has he committed. I guess he is so desperate now that he has to resort to breaking laws blatantly. Fighting him, all victims, is acrucial part in forcing him to this corner, otherwise there is no chance of winning. BTW, his defending lawyer is Gurdip Singh, the one he has used to intimidate some victims with lawyer letters.

I think he is going bankrupt...I think he fails to pay CIMB bank something very big such that they want to sue him.

Latest Victim of Jerry Tan Kim Huat

The latest victim of Jerry Tan Kim Huat is the SCT. They have once again been fooled by this scum into working for him to extort more money from the victims. That is why I wish for Jury system in Singapore. We need someone with more ground knowledge and common sense and not just go by the book playing right into their sick setup. If Singapore law is only to be abused by SMART scum such as Jerry Tan to impose onto us POOR common folk then there is no justice. Home Affairs if you are really scanning the internet for grunts please kindly action on the complaints in this forum and get CAD to work. Please put a stop to him and his crime once and for all. Heaviest sentence on all counts with jail terms to run consecutively with no pardon. Hopes he get at least 20 years in jail.

Best option is to go to CAD. At this moment, one mastermind of 7 previously operating timeshare companies is currently being remanded in Changi Prison with bail set at $200k. CAD are proceeding with 72 charges on one of the companies against him, and he is contesting these charges, and awaiting trial.

CAD does it very slowly, but they do get it done. The initial arrest of the above was made in August 2009.

Ask Jerry Tan to show contract with Hotel Partners and write to Hotel Partners to enquire

To all going to SCT to hear Jerry Tan's claim against you. Ask him to show you the contract he has with the "Hotel Partners". If he unable to produce, then you can counterclaim him for running a scam and request refund. Use the below document for reference. Some local hotels are very responsive and if you write to them to check regardig the membership you will get disclaimer from them saying they have no dealing. Use the discalmers as proof to support your case.
