nice wor

btw if want to book ryokan hotel... must ask local to book or we can just go their website to book?

:s13:

From my experience, most ryokan don't cater to foreigners.
So booking is tough, although some of them provide english booking website but the booking plans and options are not as comprehensive compared to the Japanese one.

Because I know a bit of Japanese so normally i just use the Japanese website to book and then email the Ryokan to communicate further~ :(

they just don't bother to cater for english la. I've came across quite a few hotel sites without English page. even the page about their location/access is also in japanese.

guys, i'm planning my daily budget excluding accommodation, train pass, tic.
just purely on food, minor transport fees, entrance fees, minor shopping.
SGD$120/day?

Depending~

What kind of Food you are looking for. Within City, I believe $10 transport per day is enough.
Entrance fee depends on what kind of attraction. Example skytree cost more than $40 to go up to the top. Some temples charge around $7 or so for entrance.

Hi TS! Is Kumamoto fun? I will be going there for a few months to work. :)

Kumamoto, I only stayed for a few hours there.

For a few months to work, maybe that place will not be fun compared to bigger city in Kyushu like Fukuoka. Or in whole of Japan like Osaka and Tokyo.

turning yellow liao, some reds already. When u go, will be peak of koyo le. Awesome, but i guess u know that liao. :D

too bad Kiyomizu now has some scaffolding due to refurbishment.

I went Tateyama and made a snowman le!

When i went to Tateyama in April, pretty cold

and the strong snow wind make the visibility very low:s22:

Hyperdia can use your phone internet explorer to open.

For travelling within city like Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. Don't really need to plan so detail since the transport frequency pretty high.

So i will only use Google Map when i am travelling on the go.

Or, u can go to the (english) website of tourist association on the onsen region that u are interested in. Then follow the links to the onsen asociation. If lucky, some onsens have their webpages in english.

i guess for my type... should be enough. since most of my place of interest not really exp. maybe eating would take the bulk, but not really high end type, so should be ok.
