I think one of the concern why young people felt difficult to stick to LCHF diet is because this diet is rather expensive, when compared to our carbo staple food; rice, noodle etc

It can be very filling to have $3-4 of carbo meals outside, but $3-4 can only buy like a piece or two of chicken drumstick or chicken wings outside...

You access to less variety and choices, especially when you're dining in public...

I have to actually buy LCHF ingredients in bulks to save cost, and still very expensive to a student like me....

Must learn fasting from fitshushu to save more money liao

Whether you are a student or a working adult, if you want to stick to LCHF diet, learn to cook your own meals & bring to school or office. Much more economical & nutritious than outside food.

sizzling

btw i workout, but not enough protein, would my muscle shrink? or just become more lean only?

If you workout, aim for at least 1 gram of protein for every pound of bodyweight otherwise you won't be gain strength & lean muscle mass. Whey protein is a relatively cheap way to increase protein intake.

Ya lo, not a high earner is like that one. :(

My food expenditure increased 3-4 fold after converting to lchf. Every few other days need to stock up soya milk n Meiji milk. Every month stock up at least 2 tube of Greek yogurt n 2 bottle peanut butter n bags of oats. Each weekends jiak 4-6 pack of bacons from supermarket. Still got countless pack of strawberries n blueberries. Snacks like almonds n walnuts.

Outside lunch jiak bkt, beef tendon, siobak or half to whole chicken.

Intermittent fasting hardly works for me cuz my tummy is just a blackhole :(

Aiyo... please don't touch soy milk:

if you absolutely must drink milk, at least go for these brands which are from grass fed cows:

- True Organic Milk
- Marigold Fresh Milk
- Pura

Source of Lard help

Hi, my family uses coconut oil and lard from pork fat bought from NTUC for frying.

I read that antibiotics and what not are stored in the fat and I want to get some good "organic" lard in the sense that the pigs eat properly and are not given antibiotics.

Any butcher or lobang in Sg I can get this from? Thanks a million in advance.

Why don't you switch to grassfed better instead? The profile is much better than pig's lard.

These brands of butter are from grassfed cows:
- Anchor
- Kerry Gold
- SCS
- West Gold
