Start lchf diet around mid or end march 2015 till now (around 2 month)

my last test was on Nov 2014

HBA1C: 7.4% (insulin about 90 to 115 unit per day)

chol: 5.71
tg: 1.73
HDL: 1.19
ldl: 3.73

after started lchf (test 13 may 2015 @cgh)

HBA1C: 7.0% (insulin about 60 to 70 unit per day)

chol: 6.51
tg: 4.43
HDL: 1.33
ldl: 3.17


any comment?

Your triglycerides are going up; suggest you increase Omega 3 (EPA & DHA) intake to 2 grams a day.

Read that there will be initial triglyceride spike??

I.e first few months on low carb... body fat lost will go into blood.... something like that...

No. While most folks will show a better lipid profile, there will always be hyper-responders where the LCHF diet needs to be tweaked:

Trigs will initially go up cos you are switching to burning ketones

Try to test after at least 3 months of LCHF bah

A few paleo bloggers have written on the initial spike in trig numbers...

My trigs are consistently below 50 (using different scale here) and my trig/HDL as way below 1 :D

Anyway, most knowlegeable doctors now know that cholesterol numbers are quite useless in prediction of CVD

Better to watch our blood glucose levels :)
